Hello everyone, I finally gave myself a time to see what's going on with others who are in the same boat on the internet.

I got married with my husband who is a US citizen last september and we started to work on the paperworks at the end of the month and submitted early October.

My husband who is a petitioner received NOA1 on October 12th and we had a problem not being able to check my case status online for awhile. A few days ago, we finally are able to see on the website, USCIS.gov but it says that it's on initial review which means it still is at the very first step. My case number starts with MSC, by the way. I know that everybody has a different way to be processed, but just in case, I'll share what's happened with my friend who has been working on K-1 visa. Her fiance' is currently in the US navy stationed in VA. They submitted their files last May and they were almost at the last step.. They were asked to send some evidence to the US consul in Japan a few weeks ago. She got a police certificate and her fiance' was about to send his copy of financial report. But then last week, she received a letter from the US counsel that her fiance'/spouse a signed and dated letter addressed to the US consul, Embassy Tokyo which reaffirms his/her interest in bringing her to the U.S. and requests and extention of the validity of her K-1 validity for an additional four months... and also they ask her fiance' to include a reason why she would like an extentio.........

They have been asked to send pictures of each other's family and letters before and they've yet been asked recently. What's more confusing me is that their file is going to be expired in February which is not even a year after they submitted the file last May... Well, all I can say is that we shall do our best on working on our paperworks perfectly and immediately if you ever receive a mail from them to send any evidence. wish all of us the best October filers :) Stay positive and let us never get tired of this because it's not because of the people working at the embassy, USCIS, NVC and etc. making the process so harder than we ever thought. It's because of many bad things happened and people in the past that made this process much longer than ever to the most of the fliers as the year goes by. At least we have internet and this website and so on to see if there's anybody is in the same situation so help others as much as possible while waiting for the notice/mail. Positive energy!!! I'm not gonna let anything make me down even if I might be the one to stay the longest here in this room.hehe Have faith! cheers!

ya, K-1 visa chasers have different requirements than CR-1/IR-1 visa chasers.

So, don't compare your friend's case to yours - it's all different for documents and required documents.

For example, your friend has been asked to submit letters of intent - a CR-1/IR-1 visa chaser never is asked that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

As I noted before I am (petitioner) scheduled for interview on Jan 23rd which I am not happy about.

I want to do an infopass and go ahead of time to clarify any questions they have.

Which of these should I select for the appointment?

1. Order from Immigration Court

2. Case Processing Appointment

3. EAD inquiry appointment

4. Case Services follow-up appointment

I thought 2?

Thanks a lot!!

Item 2. I chose that when I booked, and it turned into an ADIT appointment.

Dunno, but I'm sticking with #2. ADIT? I know what that is, and it doesn't apply.

Yes, thanks for confirming and making me calm. :)

Are you Japanese or a foreigner living in Japan?

Yup. I feel your pain. We feel your pain.

It's kind of silly, but I've built up this picture in my mind of a diverse group of people in various countries all over the world...simultaneously sitting in front of our computers, sipping a coffee/tea/whatever near a window with a tree outside...and calmly but firmly hitting the refresh button on their browser on both this forum and uscis.gov every few minutes...like a cat staring at a bug inching slowly across the floor...waiting...ready to move when the moment is right...

It brings me a bit a peace to know that my wife and I are not alone, that much of this stress is shared.

Soon...

The little details:

  • ~15 October: Posted I-130 from Switzerland to Chicago Lockbox
  • 29 October: I-130 NOA1 with MSC receipt number
  • early November Posted I-129f from Switzerland to Texas Lockbox
  • 15 November I-129f NOA1 with MSC receipt number
  • 23 November I-130 "your Alien Registration Number was changed"
  • 15 December I-130 MSC# finally online, in "Initial Review"
  • 27 December I-130 NOA2
