Ok, just got off the phone with the NVCeees

They said the CASE IS COMPLETE! HOWEVER I have to give an employment letter to the beneficiary for the Affidavit of Support at the interview.

Kind of weird because they had sent me a checklist for this, and I have sent it along. Apparently they have not gotten to it yet (it's been about a week), but they opted to close the case anyway.

Anyone heard of a situation like this before?

Regardless, the letter is there and they should be getting to it in the next couple of days so hopefully that will be a case complete without an asterisk. Also, giving my wife the letter won't be too hard since we live in the same apartment.

AND hopefully we'll get an interview date before too long :)

It states the thing about the medical here http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/apply/.... I am utterly confused.... I was just sitting here calmly waiting for an interview date and now I am terrified that I should have scheduled the medical a long time ago.

I don't know, man. If I were you, I'd demand a confirmation note that your wife has received the employment letter.

;)

All kidding aside. Do what the NVC tells you and you should be fine.

Grats on the case complete! kicking.gif

And I came to the same conclusion as you: they just closed your case anyway (before getting to your checklist response) and just wanted you to bring it to the interview instead. Either way, make sure you bring another copy of the letter with you to the interview, in case something happens with it at NVC.

Hmm, weird. I never heard of Germany requiring the medical BEFORE an interview date is assigned. I suggest you go to the regional forum (Europe) and do some digging around there and see if you can find this. I'm sure someone has posted the same question before...

Thank you...will include the letter with a full photocopy of AOS stuff to make sure everything is good to go on interview day.

By the way, is there still a thread we can add our case to for people waiting on interviews?

How long do you guys suppose POE will take for little old me?

I still have no idea when I'll finally fly over to reunite with my wife. We've looked a little bit at flights, though, and a lot of flights from Sweden to Pittsburgh go via either Chicago, New York (Newark) or Detroit.

One flight we looked at had a 10 hour layover in Detroit. That's A LOT! My wife said she'd rather drive to Detroit and pick me up.

Another one sounded a lot more reasonable, 3 hours (give or take) in Chicago.

I don't mind waiting, but I don't want to wait too long.

Well that Chicago 3 hours sounds best that will probably take up the POE enough for you to get to your gate at O'Hara. Thanksgiving you thinking?

Thanks a lot I have contacted them since my case been completed a week ago she said the interview for sure will

Not be scheduled this month. I said maybe next month? She said um no! I said how long does it usually take? She said depending on the embassy work load. And they only schedule every second week of the month. I felt bad that it's gonna probably take another 2 months. But u just flipped my mood upside down. Knowing that it's a lie!
