I'm 23 and my fiancé is 46...I feel like the adult most times. But we have been together for 4 years now and used to live together before he moved back to the states...I would of thought that if you can prove that it is a legitimate relationship, you can only hope for the best. We have our rental agreement and bills in both our names...

you don't know that. plenty of women have given birth at the age of 45 and after. i understand the point you were trying to make, but you didn't make it correctly.

op - it is possible that the embassy will question your fiance's motives, considering that culturally speaking it is important that males are capable of having children with their wives. but this is only one potential part of the age difference issues that face MENA couples..they are obstacles that can be overcome with substantial evidence of a committed relationship such as multiple visits.

Good Luck, we have 14 years no issues. Look at the regional forum, be prepared for your interview and go for it.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I understand people trying to boost the OP's confidence and that is a very important function of VJ. This is a great place to find support from people dealing with similar issues.

However there are times when telling someone not to worry about something can be detrimental to the situation. A 20 year age gap in a MENA consulate with an older female petitioner is not going to go without scrutiny. There is plenty of history confirming that here on VJ.

OP - Read post #11 again, then do lots of research then prepare yourself.

Best of luck!

Peter_Pan has a point. Though not a reproductive expert, she brings up a common rule-of-thumb most CO's look at: child bearing age. The age difference may be acceptable in USA, but you must look at the norms and customs in the country the beneficiary comes from. Is it rather normal for a young man to marry a lady outside child bearing age in a MENA or African country? Answer is no. Most males are expected to produce legitimate offspring. Legitimate is the operating word... meaning the offsripng must be produced inside marriage. CO's know this and they may look at the 'relationship' as fraudulent. CO's have seen it all before- the typical scam: a young man befriends a lovely USC lady outside child bearing age. He enamors her and once in the US he flees faster than we can say 'run' abandoning the spouse. All too common from males migrating from MENA countries.

So age gaps perse are not a problem; I'm 7 years older. Is the whole package and if the package looks suspicious by itself, they WILL look into the age gap as a decision making point.

Does he have kids, do U? those R some of the questions that may come up............good luck

He has no children and I have four ages 23, 15 , 13 and 9. I know the scrutiny will be tough and I worry about him being nervous thru the interview but my evidence is completely rock solid. Will just keep praying.

I have. 19 years gap with my fiancé and it doesnt feel like it too. You're fine!! Yay! Congrats!!

Thank you! just bothers me that a man can do this with no questions but as a woman it seems suspicious :(

In MENA countries a larger age gap will often invite more scrutiny than in other parts of the world. And it seems that when the USC petitioner is a female and older it's even truer.

OP, do some reading in the regional forum to learn from other members who have married younger men in the region.

thank you so much!

There is always the option of you being the one to move.

The important thing is that you are together.

The point was made absoluetly correctly, and consicely, and especially based on what we've heard on these forums. I remember a Mumbai interviewee that was basically shamed at the Embassy due to lack of preparration for this specific question.

Just because you prefer to go through life with rose colored glasses doesn't mean that respondees have to cater to you, as long as they stay within TOS.

I do not mean to be intrusive but, is your 23 year old a female? If yes, be very ready for the CO to ask your fiance: how come you'll marry a lady who has a daughter your age? Rehearse, rehearse and rehearse.

Good luck
