The only thing under your control is to submit your application without any error. Once you send it out you have absolutely no control on how fast it gets processed.

Well said!

How can this process move quicker? Any ideas? I have not filed anything yet as am planning on end of October. But 5-6 months for approval is longtime.

pray your casefile gets into a fast queue somewhere, with a ton of adjudicators assigned casefiles before yours.

Sorry, that's the only use of the God that I suggest, during your Visa Journey.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Expect it to take up to a year......then if it's faster than that it's a bonus.

I think many of us would jump on a chance to pay to be fast tracked.........not an option :crying:

Whatever choice you make, good luck!!

5 tp 6 months is just getting through USCIS. You still have the next step being set to embassy for interview and all that paperwork. Porbaby more like 6 to 8 months. If you don't get sent to VSC. But nothing you can do. Unless you qualify for an expedite which is well life or death kind of things really.

Hi dwheels, was just curious, you mention in the above, "if you dont get sent to VSC" like they dont always send petitions through to the VSC, do some applications just get approved without the VSC being involved? or did i misread your comment. (sorry very new to all this, only in the beginning part of the process) Thanks for your time.

I'm sorry for the acronyms. VSC is (Vermont Service Center) and CSC (California Service Center). Those are the two sertvice centers that adjudicate IR1/CR1 and K1 Petitions. After you go to Lockbox they send to These sites. Depending on where your lockbox was. However because of workload like VSC as I mentioned is very behind they might send a petition that would have gone there to CSC because they are way ahead. But like this time last year it was the other way around for the service centers.

So really you never know.

We ended up at the VCS (Vermont) instead of the CSC (California) even though my husband lives in and filed from Ohio. According to the list of states where applications are filed Ohio is usually designated to CSC. So I am bummed out about that because right now at least, CDC is faster than VT.

We decided to do the CR1 process as it seems to take a little less time than K-1. That being said we have been waiting 5mo. now and we don't have our NOA2 yet (hopefully in the next month or two).

*I wonder if ours went to Vermont because the consulate I am going to interview at is in Montreal which is on the East coast?

Nothing you can control, you are filing for CR1, you have a longer than 5 month wait than a K-1. You need to make sure that you follow the guidelines here double check your paperwork, send plenty of evidence.

Be prayed up, it is the luck of the draw. You only are processed at CSC according to your state. You listed Dallas as your local office. If you live in Texas, you will be processed in Vermont.

one can get any Service Center, i live in Texas but got California Center.
