I'm just double checking, I received the Form I-797C, NOA receipt. (I'm the American, btw). Is there anything else I have to do, or do we just wait until we get the interview information?

Also, how does the interview information get to us? Does the government send the info to me (USA) or him (Canada)? Is it in a letter? or an Email? etc. He's going to try to visit me this weekend for about a month, and I'm just concerned he'll get the interview letter while he's visiting and have to drive back in such a hurry because the interview would be tomorrow (or something). Do they give you a weeks notice?

Thanks!

Send in I-129F: July 5, 2012

Receive NOA1: July 11, 2012

You have a 4-5 month wait for the NOA2 during that time you can read the middle section ,What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide Good Luck :)

To add: Your Timeline shows this... Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between November 21, 2012 and December 4, 2012*.

Welcome to the forum.

:guides:

BTW, you sent your petition to the Dallas Texas lockbox location, the Texas Service Center does not adjudicate K-1 visa petition. The receipt number prefix on your I-797c will tell you which service center your petition was sent to. If it is WAC = California Service Center, EAC = Vermont Service Center. Change your timeline/profile info in order to get relevant statistics.

Good luck on your visa journey.

You have many months before you get to the interview stage if you're just receiving the NOA1. Take a look at your timeline and you'll see the estimated adjudication timeframe. On visiting, read the pinned thread above called, "Yes, you can visit" for information on visiting during this process.

Be sure to read the K-1 flowchart for an overview of this process: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

Let the wait begin. I think this journey is the greatest test of one's patience. I never felt this helpless in a long time in my life. I now know why they say patience is a virtue. Good luck on this journey. there will be ups and downs. frustrations sometimes. Long distance relationship is HARRRRRRD

Is there any reason they'd get to hers before mine despite the fact I received my NOA1 a month ago?

It all depends on which box they have yours in. Your Timeline shows yours should be ajudicated between December 1, 2012 and December 5, 2012*. Looks like your both in the running :) Good Luck!

Oh yeah...it's time to put the USCIS and VJ websites on your "favorites" bar and obessively start checking them multiple times a day. And find a hobby. ;)

When it's time to schedule the interview, that will be set up between the embassy and him (in Canada) after more paperwork. He'll have plenty of advance notice.

If you add up all my Christmas Eves for the past 32 years, it would not come close to the amount of anxiousness I feel right now. It's kind of an awful feeling. Definitely nothing I want to go through ever again in my life.
