My fiancé managed to rush off the plane and was towards the beginning of the customs queue. Fortunately, the officer working the queue knew how to process K-1 visas.
The officer asked him a few questions to confirm his identity, asked when we would be married, and then wished him much happiness as she sent my fiancé on his way. In all, it took about 15 minutes.
