We got our NAO2 approved on July 11 and wanted to know when we should start calling the NVC to get our case number?

My husband called today and they told him to wait 20 business days to call again.

And when our case number is ready, will the NVC have any other information that we should get from them or give them like our email address?

Don't listen to that canned speech of 15 or 20 days mess. I was approved June 29. I call now morning and late evening and sometimes inbetween. My case has yet to arrive. Some cases are taking 4 weeks to be received at NVC than more weeks for case #, and more weeks for AOS and IV Bill. Than more time waiting for case complete and interview date. Seems NVC has now become our USCIS and waitiing and waiting. No more shortcuts through NVC they have found us out me thinks.

even only after just a few day of getting our NOA2 approved?

I had gotten my NOA2 on a friday night. I called monday morning. Just to hear their voice. I told them I know its just since friday but was just curious. The nice lady had told me it usually takes 15 business days from approval for them to receive. Than she said depending on the type case is how soon a case is given.

Tomorrow is 15 business days for me. :D

are any case numbers nowadays taking 2 to 3 weeks instead of 4 weeks?

Yep you never know thats why calling every day can't hurt. Dana and Divine she called on her 15th day and got case received and the nice lady gave her case # that day and two days later her IIN.

Here's praying for other nice people who will do us the same. Think I will call now.

It takes around a week or so for packages to be reviewed. If both are accepted, then case complete for you :)

And this cut-off for interviews is just bull #######. NVC schedules interviews all month long.

Thanks Saylin. Great news! They rec'd our AOS package Friday and our IV package today (tracked it online via USPS website). So I'll start calling on Friday and everyday after until I know both have been accepted. Then about one month after that to hear about the interview if we don't get any RFE's right?

Sorry if i have too many Q.

About the education thing again in DS-230.

Example:

College

Course: Nursing

Diploma: BSN ( is it ok to abbreviate it?

Btw Is means bachelor in Nursing) or all i have to place in the diploma: Bachelor only?

Post grad

Course: masters

Diploma: MAN (masters in Nursing)

Is it ok to abbreviate

Or place Masters.?

Don't abbreviate. If there's enough room, write out the entire diploma name, otherwise just put 'bachelor'. The same goes for the masters.

We got our NAO2 approved on July 11 and wanted to know when we should start calling the NVC to get our case number?

My husband called today and they told him to wait 20 business days to call again.

And when our case number is ready, will the NVC have any other information that we should get from them or give them like our email address?

Since it's taking around a month from NOA2 to case number assigned, I'd say start calling this coming Monday, then everyday afterwards. Once August hits (and if you don't have your case number), start calling twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Thanks Saylin. Great news! They rec'd our AOS package Friday and our IV package today (tracked it online via USPS website). So I'll start calling on Friday and everyday after until I know both have been accepted. Then about one month after that to hear about the interview if we don't get any RFE's right?

Great news on them getting the packages. And sounds like a good plan for the calling good.gif

As for interview time frames, this will always vary by country. Some find out within a few days of case complete, others a few weeks. After you get a case complete, I'd suggest calling once a day to NVC and DOS. Or, you can simply wait for NVC to email you the date.

Does NVC send an email after scheduling an interview?

On VJ I read that most people find out by calling.

Does this mean they call before NVC has time to send out an email or NVC doesn't send an email?

Yes, NVC sends an email when an interview date has been assigned. But calling is usually always faster. For example: I called early Friday afternoon and got my interview date. I only got the email from NVC the next day, early Saturday morning. If you want to know right away about your interview date, then call. If you don't mind waiting to find out, then just sit back and don't call.

Does calling DOS usually make a difference from what calling NVC might be aware of? Is the correct number for DOS, 202-663-1225? I tried calling it and got impatient after going through automated menu after menu and long speeches about the policies and hung up (blah blah blah)!

DOS and NVC should have the same information, but not always. I've seen cases where DOS would have the interview date and NVC didn't (for whatever reason). So I always suggest calling both. The phone number (as well as which number options to press so you can skip the long speech :P ) is on the first post.
