I finally met May in the Philippines on April 28, 2012 and stayed there until May 16, 2012. I proposed to her on her birthday while I was there (May 6) and sent the paperwork on May 21st. Now the long wait begins and back to Skype. I've been reading these forums for months now and received a lot of helpful advice. My problem is, it hasn't even been a week since I filed and I'm missing her already. I don't know how people can stand waiting the 5, 6 or more months for their loved one. It's killing me already! I just want to be with her.

Please someone send me some encouragement.. :)

It is very tough. It has been nearly 4 months since my paper work was submitted. Just try to keep busy with work and other activities and take it one day at a time. Some days are harder than others. What else can we do?

Also go to the off topic section on this website and play some of the games to pass some time.

I just Skype, iMessage, whatsapp all the time. We sleep with the Skype connection on all night, helps a lot. We send each other pictures, tweets and anything else that will make us smile.

Hang in there brother. If you need encouragement, come her to VJ, we'll help you.

The first few weeks are difficult, but after a while you settle into it. There's a lot to be doing in the buildup to the move, and taking this time to plan for when you receive your second NOA, and of course, the AOS application you'll need to make once you are in the USA. That alone can take a few months to get up to speed on. Stay patient, it'll come

Yes, the preparation for the interview, including all the remaining paperwork will help you get through the hard times. Study the guides hehehe. I know they brought me sanity. Then start looking towards AOS and then Remove Conditions.... It's a long journey ahead.

I was apart from my wife for years before we got engaged and she came here. All I can say is it got pretty stressful and harder after we filed the k-1. Stress was from worry if something goes wrong. The hard part is knowing we were finally close to being together forever. Just try to keep busy. Text, phone calls, web cams, whenever you can. When you can't, just try to keep your mind occupied abd busy. I'm sorry to say it won't get easier until she's here. But once she is here, the time apart will seem like nothing. Now its the hours in the day we're working until we're together again that gets to me

My advice is to make normal out of the abnormal distance.... We skype from the time we get home from work, sleep on the pc (i know it sounds silly but its the only way to hear his breathing at night) and don't leave skype until we both go to work the next day... luckily our timing is similar as he works nights and i work days...

While on skype, i pay the bills, cook, clean fold laundry help the kids with home work, he reads to them and helps with their homework too.. we try to create our family unit even tho we aren't physically in the same home yet. He offers me tea when he makes it.. we have candlelight dinners at times.. we even watch movies online together.

Try your best to create a way to make it feel as if your together already. YEs the distance hurts and i know firsthand how long it can take.. we got married oct 2 2010 and filed in Nov 2010 had interview june 15 2011 and are still dealing with the black abyss of AP. I was planning on taking a trip very soon to visit but our little girl has suffered from medical issues from an arachnoid cyst she was born with in her brain (takes up 33% of her brain cavity) and due to this we are having to see a neurosurgeon in a few weeks ... she's been told she can't attend school until this is resolved and all i want now is this to end and my husband to be home so we can deal with this together. But we still try to make even this issue as normal as we can. I involve him in everything the Drs are doing and saying and praying for a miracle.. actually two within the next few weeks.

I love the fact my husband and I can forget everything when we talk.. and we talk a LOT!!! But it brings me calmness and peace and I can't wait until the day we share the same home and forget all this distance!

Good luck to you and just know you aren't alone... none of this is easy but in the end it's totally WORTH every minute!!!

You are worrying to much. The Basics:

Your Filed the 129-F.... There is a period of waiting. Short but waiting. You have your NOA1 so anticipate 4 to 6 months for Regular Background checks on

that Application. Totally normal. With no problems you will have your NOA2. (Sorry Petition)

If you don't know how to keep a Chat log and proof of a On-going Relationship you do have a problem. Skype is fine and I take pictures off the cam too.

I think your fine for now and might be worrying to much. Patience for Couples waiting on a NOA2 is Normal and takes time.

To miss her is to Love her. Hope this helps. Keeps records of conversations etc. for her interview.

Start getting your stuff ready for after the NOA2. I am 4 months after NOA1 tomorrow! We all feel your pain. The first month was horrible, then we were ok for months 2 and 3, we knew we just had to wait. But now that it has hit month 4.....headbonk.gif We are going crazy..... I am a January filer, and recently the approvals have SLOWED.... I found myself stalking this site looking at Igor's list to see if any other January people were approved. DO NOT do that to yourself. Chill out and think of your wonderful future. Chat with some cool peeps on here, it helps to have a thread for your filing month, I love my fellow January filers (we have a thread we keep each other motivated with) AND, if you find yourself fighting more with your fiance or only talking about visa visa visa, I would recommend saying, I love you, but lets cut this call short and refocus our energy for tomorrow night. It helped us to stop focusing on the negative and look toward the positive. One day this will all seem like no big deal...

I totally agree! The wait seems like an eternity now but it is a small price to pay for a lifetime together. Soon all the waiting will be a distant memory and being at work for 9 hours will seem like a long time instead!

Aside from talking to her as much as possible, try and keep yourself busy. Spend time with family and friends. Have you started organizing your house so that she has space there? Maybe you could think about things like that.
