I finally received a response from one of the 5 people (Service request, Ombudsman, congressman, 2 senators) I've contacted for help with our AOS. It reads: "USCIS records indicate the I-485 case MSCXXXXXXX is currently under review with an officer. Your constituent should receive a notice of action within 45 days." To say that I am underwhelmed is quite an understatement. Is this the standard response? I checked today, and our case still hasnt been touched since 02/03/2012.

Yes, that is the standard response. They told me the same thing and miraculously we had a GC in hand a week later. I'm going to send good vibes your way. You definitely need them after all this stress! Hang in there and keep us updated!

Total elapsed time between filing I-129F to GC in hand 569 days or 1 Year, 6 months, 22 days.

Our attorney contacted the California Service Center on 08/10/12 and today we received a letter in the mail stating the following:

" This notice acknowledges receipt of your status inquiry concerning your pending I-485 application. We recognize your interest in a final adjudication on your pending application and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. The California Service Center is committed to processing this workload, and will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in an expeditious fashion as soon as available under our resource constraints."

Really??? - Well at least they are "committed" to processing our case! Hahaha!!

Finally heard back from my congressman....after 5 weeks. He told me that CSC told him their current processing times for I-485's based on family are NINE MONTHS from the date of transfer to CSC! I called BS and told him that they are telling everyone else it is 180 days. He told me to call him back once my nine months are up, which will be on 11/02/2012. These people are freakin ridiculous! He definitely will not be getting my vote this November!

Hi all. Just wanted to report that today, we got both our notice that the I-485 application had been approved, AND the actual green card. Hooray! Our application was transferred to the Cali Service Ctr way back in January as well, and I did make a request through my Senator's office as well about 4 weeks or so ago. Not sure if that made a difference or not, but we are happy nonetheless. So hopefully, progress is being made on all the January 2012 transfers to Cali. Good luck!
