Called NVC.....operator tells me "why won' t you go to your payment system and pay, don't wait for the letter" (oh really why don't I do that :bonk: ) I tell her : it's not online, it's been weeks. Her: ohhhhhhh, I don't understand why. I will let THEM know, to invoice you. Me: wonderful :help:

I have nightmares about how it's 2025 and I still haven't paid the IV bill :crying:

Rujby...I'm sorry. I hope everything resolves in best way possible ..stay strong

My husband called NVC today and the operator said they received my case already but they're still processing it. How long do you think will it take before I get my case no.? thanks! :-)

It's currently taking around ~3 weeks. You should be getting it soon. But NVC seems to be going through a backlog at the moment, so it might be a bit longer.

I tried forming the question in different ways to see if anything was missing and she kept saying, all the documents received, everything is good we are now just waiting for an interview date from your embassy? And told me to wait for an email about my interview date.

And I'm sorry, I've seen you post about DOS, Department of State? Who are they exactly and what do they do and what do you actually say once you call them?

Thank you so much for your help, Saylin you're amazing !

Sounds like a case complete to me ;) Grats! kicking.gif

DOS is the middle man between NVC and the embassy/consulate. They can see what NVC can as well as what the embassy can see. So, DOS = NVC + embassy. It's just another source to be inquiring about your interview date. When you call them up, just ask if an interview date has been scheduled yet. They'll then ask for your case number.

Keep in mind, DOS aren't open as long as NVC is, so if you want to call them, it has to be before 5pm EST, when they close.

Good luck!

Expedite request denied again....

:(

Nothing scheduled that DoS can see yet. Geneva (the operator) still seems to think I should get packet 3. When I said "I was informed that spousal visas are not sent packet 3 by the embassy," she got kind of quiet, told me nothing's been scheduled yet, and told me to keep calling. Guess packet 3 is now code for "confused operator."

It definitely seems like it...

Anyone got their case numbers recently? Or even had their files received at NVC? This week is our 3rd week from NOA2, and I know many who have gotten earlier approvals are still waiting for their cases to be received as well. Is it really that hard to send out a bunch of papers from USCIS to NVC?

Keep in mind, USCIS has to deal with THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of cases each day. Their system is far from perfect, but you should still give them credit for what they do as it is an enormous task.

You should be getting it soon as it's taking NVC around 3+ weeks for a case number. Just keep calling NVC once a day.

Called NVC re: not receiving my IV yet again this morning and still no answers, other than "it should have been sent and we don't know why". So I called my state senators office to ask for help. The woman I spoke with told me they will make a formal inquiry into my case. Drove to the senators office signed a release and they are contacting the NVC via their congressional liaisons today!!!! I'm tired of not getting answers. It has been over 3 weeks since I have been stuck with no IV bill, and I'm tired of hearing "no one knows" from the NVC. Hopefully this will get things in motion!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I sent it through email too. Hopefully within this week we could received an email from NVC of acknowledgment that they have already accept/receive my DS 3032 form. Btw, usually how long it will take for them to reply that they already receive DS 3032 through email? based on your experience sir?

It's been taking around a week for a response. Just sit tight and wait. Doesn't look like IV invoices are going out... Not many anyways...

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this piece of info, but I know Saylin will see it here, and it's about passport photos which are part of the NVC stage, so... :)

We just did our POE today, and the CBP officer wasn't happy that there was stuff on the back of my husband's passport photos. There was some kind of stamp on it from the pharmacy where he had them taken, and the officer claimed he needed to write things on the back so he was considering making us leave the screening area to find another pharmacy and get new ones. He didn't actually make us, but I guess making sure to have mostly blank space on the back of your photos is a good idea as a precaution.

The Canadian Government is strict about photos for their passport and have to be stamped on the back as to who took them and the date. Fills up the back of the photo. I've found that when our family has photos taken for US purposes, sometimes they stamp the back and sometimes they don't.

Expedite request denied again....

I'm sorry Rujby.
