This also happened to us, which is why the bank statement was helpful :)

Vanessa & Tony, thanks! That was fast!

The bank verification thing is a letter signed by the bank branch manager saying that we have a joint checking and savings.

When I looked at the print-preview for the e-statements only his name shows up! I think because I am the secondary owner on it.

That's why for AOS we had them print us verification letter that we are both on the account instead of sending the e-statements.

Agh.. being disorganized is not good when it comes to USCIS..

Working in Turkmenistan, spouse is with me.

Dealing with the NVC process...

Check out Timeline for questions :D

Hello everyone,

I just received the tax return transcripts I ordered. I'm just wondering is it better to send this rather than the 1040 tax return which contains a lot of pages? :star:

My cheques have my maiden name and OLD texas address. I moved to Iowa and used them for AOS (no problem) and i used them for ROC and the cheque was cashed on Tuesday. It's not a big deal at all. I even signed in my married name. i checked with the bank first of course and as long as my signature on the cheque matches the signature on file it's fine.

Thanks much... ur the best

It's way better. Some people (but not all) get RFE'ed for not sending in transcripts. If you have them, send them.

Its normal for the NOA1 Receipt Number not to show anything correct?

I think people have said only the Receipt Number for biometrics does anything.

Let me know if I am wrong.

My wife's continues to say "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status..."

Yep completely normal. have a look at the NOA1 again and the very last paragraph that says: "Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case online..." The "ASC appointment notice" is the biometrics letter. Frustrating though I know!

Okay thanks! Didnt know about the RFE for not sending the transcript and sending the returns instead?

I've never heard of this. Ever. i've heard of RFE's because they didn't send ALL the info with the tax return, but not because they only sent the tax return.

I don't know of any such situation. Transcripts are however preferable because they get rid of the risk of accidentally not sending an attachment with the tax return (which HAS resulted in RFE's). Plus they're smaller and that's always good :D

Hi

I have ordered online the transcripts for 2010 and 2011 but just got 2010. I will send my ROC package next week. If I don't receive it, I will send my tax return for 2011. If I understood well I have to send all the pages?

Thanks

You are probably right Vanessa&Tony. I was getting my information from a personal message that another VJer sent to me when I had asked the same question on another thread over a month ago. I'm not sure where they VJer got THEIR information as I again, I got it second hand.

I have another question:

On the extension letter...does this extend for 1 year from the expiry date on the GC or one year from the date on the NOA1?

From the time the GC expires. You're right it is confusing :S

Thanks. We need to take it to the DMV cause my hubbies drivers license expires the same day as his greencard and I can totally see them looking at that letter and trying to issue him a new license for 4/2013. I wanted to be sure before I argue with them that they need to issue it until 6/2013!!

USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation will be fine and cheaper too.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC
