Received Biometrics appointment notice for I-485, still no receipt notice for I765

I submitted forms I-485, I-131 and I-765 concurrently with form I-130 in the same package to the Chicago lockbox. The USCIS received the entire package last week of February 2012. I received email receipts and the NOAs by postal mail on March 12 2012 for all forms except the I-765 Employment Authorization form.

Today I received the biometrics appointment for I-485 but still havent received any communication or notices for the I-765 I submitted. I am thinking of resending the I-765 as there was no record of it with the USCIS when I spoke to customer service over the phone.

My question is can I go in for my biometrics appointment with the I-485 letter and request to have the biometrics for I-765 done at the same time? My I-485 biometrics appointment is scheduled for the week of March 25th 2012.

It looks like your case is moving at a good pace. I have read on here that others, having received their appointment for biometrics, have gone in and were successful at getting their biometrics done before the appointed date. It is too premature to try to out think this process for the I-765. Just because they did not mention it in your I-485 letter, does not mean that it is not being processed. Perhaps they are still investigationg the beneficiary's background, or are waiting for the picture and fingerprints to arrive to affix them on your EAD card.

You'll be fine. Remember that even if you sent them together, visas will be processed separately and will be distributed to each visa department. Don't resend anything if they are not sending you any notice, it might just make your situATION complicated.

Goodluck!

Did you check on the uscis site for your case number? it should be on the back of the check they cashed. also on the bio notice usually it will be referenced. Mine was. it could just be a glitch, that you have not received the noa. i got both emails, txts msgs and paper noa's for all 3 forms. either way you only get one notice for bio. then a while later you get your ead, since they need the bio pics etc to do it. you can either wait til you do the bio then call back or make an info pass if your really worried about it. i'd check out the case status update page on uscis first though.

Thanks for those tips!

I agree (and am grateful) that the pace of my application has been pretty steady.

I checked the online site and called USCIS for the recipt number for I-765, I was told there is nothing (no receipt number, no record) generated for I-765.

Also the biometrics notice mentions the case type as I-485, nothing about a I-765 receipt number at all.

Which makes me think that I-765 in the package has probably been accidentally overlooked.

I have read of cases where people have waited for 90 days and werre told that there is still no recipt number for the I-765 in the system.

Wouldn't it be a precautionary measure just to submit a I-765 application (and attach a copy of the original I-765 application and all the NOAs received so far)?

Thanks for that tip!

I agree (and am grateful) that the pace of my application has been pretty steady. However it still raises concerns that there hasn't been a receipt notice (NOA) generated for the I-765 yet after 3 weeks of the application package being received at the lockbox. Which makes me think that I-765 in the package has probably been accidentally overlooked. I have read of cases where people have waited for 90 days and werre told that there is still no recipt number for the I-765 in the system.

There seems to be alot of posts lately about bio letters not received noas etc. Your best bet would be to call and put in a service request ticket about it. You can find out from them if they recieved it and when they sent the letter.

I called earlier this week and raised a Service Request as well. I checked again after a few days to see if the I-765 was linked to my Alien #, nothing shows up so far.

Also my bank told me that the amount for the check was deducted electronically so they never receive any check with the receipt numbers on the back of it.

It does make some sense to wait for the NOA for I-765 or some more weeks for the EAD, however I have read/known of cases that were required to just submit another application for I-765 after 90+ days of waiting for the EAD

Again wouldn't it be a wise precautionary measure to re-submit a new signed I-765 application (and attach a copy of the original signed I-765 form and I-485 receipt)?

Does your biometric letter including 2 receipt numbers? If yes, one is for I-485 and one for I-765, and you don't have to refile anything. If you have 2 of them, that means they have received your I-765 but for some reasons, you NOA for I-765 is lost or returned as undeliverable. If it is returned, you will receive a notice on USCIS status that it has been returned, and you have to call quite some times to get it redelivered. It happened to my NOA as well, I had to call like 10 times until they mailed me a "courtesy copy." Good luck.

Thank you, however my I-485 biometric appointment letter states only 1 recipt number and 1 barcode which corresponds to the I-485 receipt number that I received in mail. So this tells me that they have not 'processed' my I-795 file yet. The thing is if my I-765 NOA was only lost in the mail or they had an issue with the I-765 forms, I would still be able to find it's receipt number upon calling the USCIS customer service. But the Level 2/IOs at the customer service number have been saying that they do not have any record of the I-765 application in the system.

So did you mail it in the same package with the other forms? It usually goes with 2 receipt numbers in the biometric, but there has been someone got 2 different biometric appointments. I suggest you wait for another week to see what's up. Otherwise you can resubmit another I-765 with the copy of I-485 NOA so you don't have to pay the fee for it. Good luck.

Yes, I did submit all the applications (I-485, I-765, I-131 and I-130) in the same application package. Fro this, I received Notice of Action receipts for all the submitted forms except the I-765. It has been 10 days since all the other forms appeared in the USCIS system with a receipt number.

Your suggestion does make sense to me, I can hold off for a few more days and check for the I-765 receipt in the mail. If I don't see it, then I shall resend the I-765 application with a copy of the I-485 receipt notice attached to the form.
