I hear you. My wife sent the I-130 three weeks ago, and I know we have a loooooong wait ahead.

The 129f is for the K-3 visa. They used to let you get a K-3 visa to come live in the US while your I-130 was still pending. But since the CR-1 visa process has sped up drastically (believe it or not) in recent years, the K-3 is now basically obsolete. They'll likely approve your I-130 and I-129f at the same time.. When that happens, they just throw away the I-129f.

I wish I knew whether the CSC was speeding up or still backlogged, but the USCIS hasn't updated anything since November so it's impossible to tell. All I know is that they were getting even further backlogged in October and November. Since then.. They may either have managed to speed up, or they may be sitting in a large pile of unprocessed petitions..

But I doubt you have much more than a month left to wait for the NOA2 :)

With CSC's back log if you look at most people who are approved they have seemed to wait close to 200 days instead of the avarage 150. so i counted my 200 days and will get frustrated after that. I keep looking at the ignor list also and it seems like they are approving end of july begining of Aug petitions. my NOA1 is sept 23rd so i guess April for me.

i go to Trinidad to see my hubby in May  ... kind of wish it was tomrw carnival monday  lolll.

keep the faith.

My wife and I applied almost a month after you did in September. I called in about 2 weeks ago and they said pretty much the same thing everyone else is hearing. The CSC is still stuck on July's applications. I did everything from put in a service request to writing my Congressmen and state Senator but nothing has happened yet... Looks like we're all in the same boat here. Chin up and know that even those it's taking forever, It will happen. Good luck to you guys!

One thing you can do while waiting is carefully study the CR1 visa guide and get ready for the next steps. Start by changing your profile from filing for "other" to CR1. Then, forget about K3 and post any questions in the CR1 forum. If you know the I-129F was not necessary, then you should also know now that filing it has delayed the I-130 approval and that you are not going to have a K3 visa.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous

to the OP -

that I-129F was filed in September? OK !

Alas, that means the I-130 was yanked out of it's place in the queue, and moved BACKWARD,

to sit with the I-129F in IT's place in the queue.

So, yer counting wrong, alas.

Count forward 6 months from the I-129F NOA-1 date, the receipt notice date on the I-797-C having the I-129F receipt number.

Sorry.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
