Matt

No, I did not request an expedite. I really have no idea what caused the speedy approval. I followed the same procedures as everyone else, documents and all.

I'll paste here the same answer I told another member:

I inquired about the possible motives and was told by other VJ members that some reasons could be: 1) Beneficiary is from a low-risk country, 2) I'm residing in the same country as the beneficiary, 3) Just pure luck, 4) Unknown reasons

Sorry I can't be of further help on this matter

DCF (direct consular filing)... Approvals like that just don´t happen. If you had been living legally in Spain or wherever it is for a minimum of 6 months you can file directly through the consulate in that country... and basically skip the long wait most go through during NOA1-NOA2. I´m over 6 months now waiting on NOA2.

If love is so simple / Why is this so complex?

No longer correct. Since August 15th 2011, if a country is not on this list of USCIS international field offices, the petition will have to be sent to the Chicago lockbox and will then work its way through a service center and then the NVC. Spain is not on that list.

I had the same question as the OP, but I'm not clear on the response. Does this mean we need to send to the originals to the beneficiary overseas, or could we just send the originals to the NVC directly ourselves without sending it to the beneficiary (and just send the beneficiary a copy to take to the interview)?

I not understand the 'requirement' for original documents to USCIS for the I-130 submittal. Can you explain it a bit more, or cite the source you utilized when you prepped the I-130 ? TIA !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Since DCF has been taken away for lots o places,

USCIS has been fast-tracking most of the I-130 approvals when the petitioner WOULD HAVE filed the I-130 overseas (not in the USA).

A week, two weeks, 3 weeks. The longest I've seen is 25 days, so far.

You have the option of sending certified copies. I strongly suggest you do this. NEVER send originals. If they get lost you could be screwed big time.BRING originals with you when you have an interview..

Ya i was thinking the same thing...omg if they get lost...we are screwed.

so HOW would i give them a certified copy? for example for our marriage licence from jordan translated?? or for husb birth certificate from egypt??

thanks
