My grandmother peacefully passed away this evening.

When we knew the inevitable was going to happen I immediately booked a flight for my husband.

He, of course, got a letter from his supervisor that he's due back Tuesday and my grandmother's doctor faxed him a letter stating my grandmother was gravely ill.

They BETTER let him come here, or I'm going to be really cheesed off.

I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. My grandmother passed away last saturday. She was 102 and Alert and Oriented. I hope your situation gets better with your husbands work. I would be pissed as well.

This is a very insensitive and unnecessary comment. This wasn't posted in the general forums, it was posted in the Canada forum where people have really gotten to know each other throughout the process and do whatever they can to help and encourage and support.

Coming in here with this kind of comment is incredibly rude and I can't even fathom what possessed you to post it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like he has some good evidence to come through into the US. I just recently had to deal with that going to the UK when my FIL passed. I didn't end up needing the proof I had...but I was told quite sternly to be sure I leave when I'm supposed to.

My condolences as well Sheeskabelle. (F) I know how much it helps to have our loved ones with us at a time like this. It sounds like you did everything possible to help ensure your husband has an easy crossing. If he hasn't left yet, make sure he also brings along the paperwork to show you two are following the appropriate immigration process. As Krikit said, I feel sure they won't give him a hard time either and he will be here with you soon (if he isn't already).
