Like my fellow VSJ associates. I fell in love with a lady that lives in a far away land.

Just curious what made you fall for your fiancee?? i fell for mine as the time passed. what an experience this has turned out to be.

On a side note. Long distance relationships do have some benefits.

* each person tries to make it work

* each protects their relationship more

* each one learns more about the other

in the end we are left with the choices we make and thats what life is all about. I can only imagine the feeling one gets when they see that theri visa has been approved.

Its hard to describe the feelings. I decided to go to Philippines and started online. A couple days of different chats with only a handful of different girls, Anne and I had a connection. From first trip there and second, our talks and video chats...I can feel the love like no other, the sincerity and caring of her. The amazing beauty in her heart. Being apart has given us both the opportunity to learn and grow. I know more about her than someone I may have dated or my ex wife for that matter. there is the pain and heartache that we have had because of a miss communication, I cant touch or hold her, but we talked it through. Its a love, a bond and hope for future that I feel no words can explain...........to my Baby, I love you sooooooooo much!

Her morals and values are so much like mine, she is the kindest, warmest and most loving woman I have ever met. She is and will always be the most beautiful woman in my eyes. She is smart, a great sense of humor, and her honesty and loyalty is above reproach. I love her and feel her love for me in every way possible...what is not to love.

She's smart, beautiful, and as wacky as I am.

Well, it just sorta.. happened... General interaction, chats and jokes turning to voice chats which after a couple months turning to video chats and now we have our own chat server to use. It's suddently realizing I'm *gasp* Internet dating and cannot imagine my life without his presence in it. Its knowing that I HAVE to hear and see him every day as he is that much a part of our lives. I cannot relax from work without sharing with him, and hearing about his day. He has adapted his schedule to mine, so we eat dinner together.. we plan meals, turn on the cam, and the three of us eat dinner almost as if we're at the table together lol. It's all the little things. It's the helping my son with his homework, and playing games with him. He spends more time with my son then my ex does.. and my ex lives less than 2 miles away! It's him not just encouraging me to complete my Bachelor's degree, but telling me to go to night school and supporting me through that. It's the fact that we talk about everything - nothing is too sensitive or painful or off limits. It's the fact that when I am with him in person, it is like coming home. When I visited him, I just *knew* where things were at in his kitchen, and we just went about dividing chores for dinner like we'd been doing it for years, completely unconsciously. I love this man. I cannot imagine my life without him. If the visa petition or the visa doesn't come through, we will just re-file =p

I think I fell for my now hubby because of his voice. When we were friends he used to tell me he was a professionally trained singer but it just went against his type so much that I didn't believe him, until one day, out of the blue, he called me on the phone and before I could say hello he started singing "Allison" by Elvis Costello, which is my favorite song. I just couldn't resist that!

I forswore all U.S. chicks on 1 April 2006 (no foolin') after the very last dysfunctional, psycho date that I could stomach.

By year-end, after considerable international searching, I had my first phone conversation with Mrs. T-B.-to-be. My radar was on full alert for the psychological derangement, goal/motive confusion, and unmitigated bullshit that had pervaded my every attempted U.S. connection, including the first marriage years before. At the end of the call, in her rusty English, she said, "T-B., whatever happens between us, promise me one thing: Please never lie to me." This was the polar opposite of any dealing with any U.S. chick that I'd ever had.

Nearly two years later, after my triumph over the evil, ####### Guayaquil consulate (continue to beware it!), she became Mrs. T-B.

And little Mini-Bone (with her eyes, and with my hairline and waistline) will be a year old on January 17, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
