I believe there must be some law or appeal the OP can at least attempt since he had no choice in the matter as he was brought here as a child.

There is no law or appeal that would help him, unless the Dream Act passes through congress and is signed into law by the president. This would allow him a path to legal permanent resident status through college studies or military service.

IF it passes.

Technically there are theoretic options, Asylum, COR, Private Bill, translator for the Army has gone by, but none I can think of that are realistic.

to join the US Army?

Supposedly he'll get 'his papers fixed' after so many years of service.

That might be the right path for you, if'n you'd like to stay in USA.

There was a big stink a few years back about recruiters telling illegals they could get their green cards for signing up. It wasn't true.

No, there isn't.

It's as true that Santa is banging the Easter Bunny that illegal aliens can join the American Forces and fight against their fellow citizens, once the time comes. The U.S. ain't the French Foreign Legion!

The only path would be a form of the DREAM Act, and when or if that ever becomes law is anybody's guess.
