Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. If you can't afford a lawyer to get your permanent GC, then you have the option of Enlisting in the US Military. I could be wrong but, you might get your GC extended on the spot and you can apply for citizenship within a year of your enlistment. Just make sure your divorce her first; otherwise she will be entitled to your military benefits. The military pays good money in the long term, but it requires a lot of sacrifices that I think you can handle, considering your situation right now. I'm not trying to recruit you; I'm just saying that this is an option you might want to consider.

Good luck Buddy.

Why do you think OP is entitled to a GC, you're advising someone how to evade the US Immigration law in other to get a GC, I thought this was against VJ's policy to give such ridiculous advice. On top of that you don't even know from what visa the OP is adjusting from.

I dunno what the h€ll is wrong with you katie, but I guess you dont deserve to be a gold member here. Thats the point I didnt not answer your question about what visa I had and adjusting from so why react like you pefectly know me and my situation. Youre in a forum like this,to help people who dont know anything about this matter, or at least not familiar, and not be be a jerk and ridiculousl share your ridiculous judgement. One thing is for sure, if you think I was illegal here, better verify it first. Questioning people giving people like me advice, ask yourself first if youre giving VJ a good impression?

If you dont have anything good to say, get the hell out of here and look for other forum where u can lambast people.

Holy! These are the senior members you guys have here?????????????
Fortunately, only a very few longer-time members post in the manner of the respondent in question. In this thread, the advice to follow is that of Bob 4 Anna.

By the way, at the lower left of posts is the "report" button. If anyone derails a thread, posts anything untowardly judgmental, or violates the VJ Terms of Service, the VJ Moderators will respond to a report of same.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

op already has a green card. the advice about joining the military is an option a lpr can take, and the op is a lpr. the visa the op is adjusting from is moot as he has a green card already.

for the op, bob 4 anna has very valid advice.

additionally, 1 post removed for a judgmental comment along with one quoting.

Since when does military enlistment became immigration law evasion? That 's his legal right to join the service even though his Green card is not permanent. The military always need good people to serve our great country. It's obvious you have never served, so you wouldn't know. Peace ....

http://www.navy.com/joining/qualifications.html The link proves my point in the paragraph: "You must be a U.S. citizen or, if you’re a non-citizen, you may join the Navy if you entered the United States on a permanent residence visa or have an Alien Registration Green Card and have 1) established a bona fide residence, and 2) established a home of record in the United States"

So who is ridiculous now?
