After waiting 6 weeks, I am a July NVC filer. They received my file this past monday, but have not generated my I-864 bill. How long does this usually take, anyone know?

Hi,

Just want to share my timeline. I emailed the NVC yesterday.

I call them twice a day

Also, I saw that some people are talking about how to call the DOS (= dept of state?). Why would I call them?

Thanks!

Hi, just wanted to follow up with this. I just got a response from the NVC saying:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice. Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving your approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The NVC will contact USCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition.

The email I wrote was something around my 12th business day. I dont recommend waiting the full 15.

OK, here goes the patience test.

How long did it take them to email you after sending in your scanned copy? I am curious how far backed up they are on responding to initial email requests (mine was two days - and then another day to tell me the case was "in route" and to wait another 6-8 weeks).. Also after talking to a supervisor last night at NVC it does not sound like the nvcresearch emails will give you any more speed at this point as they are already 20+ business days behind and still losing ground

sent AOS and DS 230 together in one envelope to NVC on July 5. AVR still plays the old message and the operator says the packet must be somewhere in the building and allow 20 business dates. 9 business days over, still 11 more to go. getting nervous here and hoping they didn't forget the packet somewhere in the corner.

It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for NVC to review your packages. You might just hear something this week, hopefully CC and not an RFE.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I was out of town.

I got an automatic email from them right away, then two days later this one, and then one business day later, I got one saying that the petition is "en route".

I am going to try calling USCIS now, apparently, they can tell you when it was mailed. Also, someone on this forum said that maybe this week, a June 18th petition will come up. I guess it is guess work.

Well for kicks I decided to make a Monday afternoon call to NVC... No record of case (of course) so I called USCIS just to see if they had any info as my case was supposed to be "expedited". In fact the officer that approved my petition sent me an email as soon as he approved it and said NVC should have my case in 5 business days as he was sending it THAT DAY!

Typical government responses were all I received today...

NVC says "We havent received your approval yet. Please wait a few more days and call us back. You can also submit a complaint via email" blah blah blah... I did send it just in case it helps speed things up.

USCIS says "Your case is approved please allow 45 days for us to send your case to NVC and an additional 6-8 weeks for NVC to send something to you. When I informed them that NVC is telling all of us to send in these complaints she sooo did not care! Also she acted like the 15 day timeframe to send to NVC was amusing! So our cases are sitting in some dead end office waiting for the shipping department to wake up from their long winters nap lol

So now what should be a 15 day wait has turned into a 12-14 week wait? :wow: C'mon government employees get a grip!!! Your standard response phrases mean nothing to us! We want our families! :bonk::bonk::bonk:
