Length of Relationship before Marriage

My fiance and I are planning to get married next weekend after which we will start the CR-1 process (He is American and I am Canadian). We have been dating 3 months and only had the opportunity to actually visit each other once during this time. Will the brevity of the relationship be an issue and increased chance of having our application declined?

In Canada--generally no problem at all. Be sure to submit as much evidence of a continuing relationship as you have available now, and collect plenty more between now and the interview.

You said "dating" 3 months, but have you known each other longer? They generally won't deny for a short relationship for somewhere like Canada (low fraud) but 3 months is pretty short so if there are other red flags they might question you harder thinking it's a marriage of convenience (wanting to move to US) rather than one of love... esp as it's so easy to visit Canada from the US and vice versa.

I tend to disagree ! Canadian can come to the US anytime and vice versa .

Why you guys have to hurry to get married before many things have a chance to get sorted out ?

Unless you both are senior citizens who have limited incomes and health issues or there is religious or cultural issues ,etc.... you better explain the real reason , loud and clear.

Just because it is a low fraud country doesn't mean that fraud doesn't exist . There are many immigrants in Canada who subsequently obtain Canadian citizenships.

I've noticed length of relationship tends to change country to country. While a short relationship before marriage may not be an issue in Canada, Nigeria or Morocco is a much different story.

I know people who got married after a few months of knowing each other,and other after years,i think it's depends of what type of person you are,some people move faster,and also i believe that religion has an important role in this matter fore some,so as long as you marry someone for love,why would it matter for how long you know each other!

I believe that loving a person is Perfect, BUT once you start living and sharing with that person 24x7 things may change if you dont take the time to know each other. Age and professional development also matter.
