Hi all again.

I work in IT so I know my way around very well with computers. I was thinking of using a special plugin for Skype that would allow us to record our live video calls and include it as part of our initial visa request packet. I can easy convert the files to DVD playback format and add menus. Even if they don't ever play it on their computers at least it will show that is there if they want to dig deeper. What do you guys think about this idea? I'm sure I'm not the first person who though of it. Please feel free to provide me with the pros of cons of this.

They don't generally accept electronic media. The adjudicator won't likely have any way to view it.

No, you're not the first person who has thought of it.

Are you talking about evidence of having met within the last two years (as needed for the initial petition)? You can use things like boarding passes, copies of receipts showing both names (hotel etc), as well as photos together, (dated, though photos are considered secondary evidence). Anything that shows you were in the same place at the same time. This is probably easier than what you are considering.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file

Can anyone provide me with a web link with documentation that states that they do not accept or look at digital media?

Yes, for the initial petition. :)

Why dont you print the conversations on skype? I mean the chat, instead of recording the video calls? Guess they'd look at it. We included it on our petition, not the video calls. Also facebook, msn, emails and all the other documents as proof.

Oh yes indeed I will include all those as well but I also wanted to go all out about it.

So far nobody has provided a link with documentation on providing video evidence of relationship on a DVD. (Digital Media)

Jim mentions it on this post and sounds as though nothing has been presented to date that stipulates one way or another on this issue. If you look on guides regarding how to present your petition etc, it is mentioned that it is a good idea to keep your documents clearly set out with the info easily accessible to them. I'm inclined to agree that they wouldn't look at it.

I think that there have been cases where COs have requested login information for Facebook and then looked at the petitioners/beneficiaries profile. I know that at least a couple people here from Ecuador have mentioned it.

This issue with electronic media is that they are afraid that someone will add something "special" such as key logger/ worms and that kind of evil. So their policy is that they can't connect ANYTHING to their computers. This includes their own removable media.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
