i dont post here often but i read alot of others i dont really want to post i got approved because i know how it feels to still be waiting for your approval and others are getting theirs my main meaning i want to convey here is even if you have previous convictions from the past you can still be approved everyones convictions are different so i dont want to give false information im just saying that yes you can be approved with a past criminal history this site is great for alot of things mainly info if you are one of the people i p.m. thanks for the replies i want to wish everyone good luck i hope it happens for you too well anyway i got the e mail this morning that we were approved on 9/07 today i got the e mail and today in the mail was the I-797 good luck to all and thanks

may 17 touched

june 28 r.f.e./imbra

august 08 sent rfe back to uscis

august 17 e mail notification of receipt for imbra rfe <107 days>

sept 11 e mail noa 2 approved <132 days>

sept 25 sent from uscis to nvc

oct 2 nvc received/new number assigned

oct 4 sent to embassy in juarez mexico

oct 20 embassy sent packet to fiancee

nov 1 us citizen received packet from consulate

dec 5 interview and got visa

dec 7 coming to calif

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

4/06/09: Mailed I-751 to VSC by Express mail

4/07/09: Received by VSC

4/17/09: Check clearance.

4/20/09: NOA1 received in mail (receipt date: 4/08/09)

4/30/09: Biometric appt. letter received (appt. on May 15th)

5/05/09: Walk-in biometric done

9/02/09: Approval Email (touch on USCUS site)

9/03/09: Approval letter received (decision date: 8/27/09)

9/09/09: Touch, but no change in status on USCIS site.

9/11/09: Green card rec'd.

Congratulations to you both!! I'm delighted to hear that in the visa process you've overcome the mistakes of the past and are moving forward. May the steps that lie ahead hold only joy and peace.

January 2004: Met Laurent at the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris

February 2004: We became an actual couple

January 29th, 2006: I left France to return to the United States--AWFUL to say goodbye!

June 2006: Finally convinced Laurent that a K-1 visa would be more time-effective than trying to get an H-1

August 1st, 2006: The K-1 petition is finally in the mail and on its way to Nebraska...WooHoooo!! And yes, I remembered to attach the check! :-)

August 3rd, 2006: USPS online tracking shows that my petition (sent certified) was received at the NSC at 5:05am

August 14th, 2006: NOA1 received USPS!! (I-129F recv'd at CSC: 8/4; NOA date: 8/10; last touched: 8/11)

October 2nd, 2006: I MISTAKENLY thought we had an approval...False alarm...Back to waiting...

October 3rd, 2006: TOUCHED!!

October 4th, 2006: REALLY AND TRULY APPROVED!!! Email notification lists 10/3 as the NOA2 date.

Later that same day: TOUCHED...AGAIN! Hope that means I'm in a cozy box and moving to NVC this week...

October 10th, 2006: Received official NOA2 via snail mail.

October 19th, 2006: Case received at NVC!! AWESOME!!

October 20th, 2006: Case forwarded to Paris!! DHL says two shipments were headed that way. Must be in there somewhere...

October 27th, 2006: Received official receipt letter from NVC via USPS.

Congratulations! I wish you all the best. Conviction does not lead to denial. IMBRA requires the K visa petitioner discloses all previous convictions, if any, but no where it says that a petition will be denied, if the petitioenr has prior conviction. I am happy for you.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
