Actually it was NOT translated as the full translation (thanks to google) is:

"Hey little one be patient ... Everything has its time ... I also made it through and it is not easy ... It's Going to Be a long journey ... It Will Be Worth It. Be very, very faith!!".

The OP wrote only the section in italics in engligh. Hardly a "translation".

Spanish as you can see is a more complicated language than English, it doesn't matter how many words she used it just express the same that was written in English. Our grammar is much more complicated than yours.... :bonk:

P.S. Google translates it literal, not the meaning of it... a computer doesn't think and feel like humans... as you know

Now that my comment has completely hijacked the initial thread I will add the following:

I am happy to live in a country where we have many languages. And I hope we are never "English only". Therefore, part of the scenario that we live in a country with many languages is that sometimes we will all be in a room where you don't understand everything that is said. For that, I blame the fact that I am not bi-lingual (or tri-lingual, etc etc). But I certainly will not come down on the person who is speaking the other language. The poster was comforting the OP in a language both understand. Another poster showed how easy it is to get a translation of that post. la buena suerte en todo su visado viaja. I hope that means: Good luck on all your visa journeys!

I believe my friend Elizabeth was trying to comfort me as she and I have a connection apart from VJ. I can truly say that she was trying to comfort me without embarrassing me as she knows personally that I have been going through a difficult time. She felt comfortable speaking to me in SPanish. Thank you, Elizabeth. And, thank you to all who comforted me, regardless of the language

Scott - it was in spanish AND english.(In other words, it was translated). Is there a real rule on this forum that it's english only?

yes it is one of the terms of use.... English only unless it is a regional forum where the other members are familiar with the language...

The rule is in place so that other members can take part in the discussion...

The VSC is in the throes of moving into a new facility a few miles away. This accounts for their delays, in part.

Back during I-129F days, the CSC (where I filed) was like molasses, and the VSC was whipping out the approvals like a knife through hot butter (or something). Now, my ROC application is mired in the same slowdown at the VSC as y'all's earlier-stage petitions are. They'll get around to them, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

OP, dont calculate too much, because by the time you get your NOA2 you would be worn out. Ours took 6,5 months from VCS which at that time was a "norm". Wait at least untill you hit 5 month. Just an advice. Gluck !! :)

Not to beat a dead horse. But here was the response when I inquired about the "english only" rule....to to be clear :

*****

There is no written rule that compels members to use English outside of the Regional Discussion forums - we do ask that folks use English whenever possible though.

Captain Ewok (VJ's administrator) has said - [We do not want to berate or otherwise make members feel uncomfortable for not using English and especially if they may have trouble with it.] This whole "English Only Outside of Regional Forums!" can seem very impolite/harsh. It is a request (not a demand) and should be addressed that way.

The main reason(s) are: So that folks can get help from all members (not just those that speak their native language) and/or so other members can benefit from the discussion (whether they read a topic now or in the future). If members are much more comfortable using their native language (or have very limited English) they should try to use the Regional Discussion forums as much as possible (it would be the most logical place to do so).

That said - folks that might use non-English as a means to violate/circumvent our Terms of Service should be discouraged from doing so.

yes, many of us are well aware of that - and it was also noted by otto so that members have a common language to participate in. if one posts in far eastern Timbuktu and someone replies in that language, you can bet that the advice won't be peer reviewed by the rest of the members - which may come at great detriment to the one asking a question as the advice offered isn't always correct.

there are many regional forums that are used by people for OTE (other than english) and it's a great place for practicing/retaining one's native language. however, the same applies there - if a question is asked in OTE, only those who understand that language will be the ones replying.

here is the link to the list of regions: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/100-regional-discussion/

now, :ot2:

The issue of using non-English in the Immigration forums has already been addressed and adding an emotionally volatile post filled with ire several days after the issue has been resolved comes across as inflammatory and designed to provoke continued dissension and argument. One such post has now been removed. Due to the tendency of this thread to go off topic and the fact that there are other threads discussing the delays at various immigration offices, I am closing this thread to further discussion.

A final reminder - if you wish to use a language other than English in the Immigration related forums, please do so in the Regional forums or by PM, or provide a complete translation of the comments so all members can participate and share. If it is posted publicly it is a public post and should therefore be accessible and understood by all members using the forum.

Thank you.
