Oh golly it's not unacceptable at all. The over thirty million illegal aliens in the country are just fine with how it's working. So it is only the much smaller number of legal immigrants having trouble with the system.

You see, the immigration process keeps these thirty-plus million illegal immigrants from immigrating. The way it does that is by them just walking across the border for free instead of paying money, being treated like a subhuman, and waiting so long. Murderers, rapists, illegal workers, and even just common folk make up this thirty-plus million illegal immigrants residing here that the law is so effective in keeping out.

These background checks and all - yea those are extremely important for keeping out these thirty million plus illegal immigrants. Lord knows how dumb terrorists are too - they're most likely to write down on their application that they are here to blow up trains and hijack school buses full of children. That's how we stop them. They could not possibly be as smart as the other thirty-plus million illegal aliens and just walk across the border. Nobody is that smart. Except these thirty-plus million illegal aliens.

Hey, remember how effective the immigration system was in keeping out those 19 hijackers from September 11? Wow, there's more proof of how we need this system because it keeps terrorists like those out of our country.

That's why we should trust the system. Because of how well it is doing at the things it says it is for: keeping out the illegals, stopping 9/11 type hijackers, etc.

There are not 30 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. Recent estimates have the number at around 11 million. Still a lot, but a third of what you are claiming.

Waiting is not a problem, it is an inconvenience.

I respectfully disagree. Waiting is an inconvenience when you are in normal processing times. When you are long outside normal processing times, waiting is and honest-to-goodness setback. It feels unsettling and unjust, it causes an acute increase in stress, it requires decision-making about what to do and it causes any plans you might have for the future to disintegrate. Personally, it helps me to have a forum to discuss those issues of injustice, stress, decision-making, and planning new timelines. I guess it's difficult for anyone who has not waited more than 5 months to understand that. Is it devastating? No. Is it a problem? I think so. If you think that one only has a right to post here if they have a devastating issue at hand, I guess we just don't see eye to eye on that.

Hey man, what the timeline doesn't tell you is that I was separated from my fiance for a year before filing. And was pregnant the whole time. It was my choice to enter into a relationship with a man in another country. You never heard a peep from me complaining about the separation on here. Ya'll signed on for this, if you can't handle it, marry an American. There's a lot of fish in the sea, blah blah blah.

The time prior to your filing is irrelevant to the discussion. Your pregnancy prior to filing was your decision and is also irrelevant to the discussion. The discussion is about the time it takes once the petition is filed. If you don't like the subject don't read the thread.

Wow, this thread is hot!!!! Well, at least that is what it says on the home page

So much humor too. I love all the sarcasm by the way. Such an entertaining evening for me.

I think there is a fine line between whinning and venting. Is there a forum entitled, "I need to vent?" That would be helpful to ensure that the threads stay focused on important topics and helping people. I am on both sides of the coin here. I empathize with all the people who have had to wait a long time and those who are still waiting. Waiting sucks especially when you are an impatient person.

I think squeaky580 brings up some great points about the process and if you look at what she is saying, you will see the help in her comments. It does not help to stress about this. While it is a stressful process and it's ok to acknowledge that, dwelling on the stress is bad for your health and bad for your relationship. Try to relax about this process. VJ is here to comfort you, not bash you or make you feel badly. The reason the site was created, or at least I'd like to think so, is to help you with the visa process. Let it help you!

You are not the first person that has had to wait this long for an NOA, an interview, approval, or whatever the case. By thoroughly researching this site, you will discover that. After you have researched it, let it ease your mind. Don't let this process make you crazy. Also, saying something isn't fair makes an individual sound as if he or she is in grade school or something. As adults we grow up to realize that life isn't fair. We have to pull our own weight, sometimes take what we want, and learn that patience is one of the best lessons in life.

On a personal note, the process made me a better person. I am a perfectionist and kinda impatient. I was on VJ at least 3 times a week. I called the USCIS maybe 4 times throughout the entire process and checked my case status maybe ten times. That sounds like a bit much to me. I told myself from the beginning not to obsess about this process (as I had seen so many people do on VJ...."omg, I got touched"...sounds kinda kinky to have the government touch you...) and my husband was very helpful in helping me to do that. I accepted that this will happen when it happens. I will pray about it and leave it in God's hands. I truly believe that attitude (with the prayer and some sexi as paperwork) is what got me through this process.

Just relax....

I'm on here because I've gained a bit of knowledge about this process, and I like to help people by giving advice on interview related issues, red flags, denials- these are devastating issues for people, and they used to take the forefront of the front page of VJ. Now, all that is seen on that front page is whining about "where is my NOA2". Threads upon threads of it, and it's tiresome to see the same basic thread posted over and over again, when there are people on VJ going through serious immigration related problems. Waiting is not a problem, it is an inconvenience.

Don't get me wrong, I have compassion for what everyone is going through with these extended processing times, I really do. But spamming the board with threads constantly complaining about it isn't going to change it.

As I said before, if you don't like the subject, don't read the thread. You like to help people that are in certain situations then focus your attention on those and do not attack the other members here for venting.

You are spamming the threads and wasting bandwidth everytime you post to these threads.

I have to endure a full web page of your pics with every post you make. That is not only a waste of the forums bandwidth but a waste of mine and everyone elses as well.

I don't want to have to see your pictures on every other post but I have no choice If I want to follow the thread. Put in a link if you want people to look, but don't force eveyone to have to view them.

we are on 7th month and still no result. we always call USCIS and same excuse wait for 30 more days. this is sick in the stomach! cant have a normal life and life looks like on hold but what else can we do but to wait. its really frustrating. did you ever received a letter why it is over the timeline? coz we received one. and the letter contains that our papers is onhold due to background investigation. :( good luck to us!

If you feel so strongly about this, I would bring your concerns to USCIS. Call them and ask to speak to an adjudicator. Let him/her know what they are doing is UNACCEPTABLE. See if this helps or hurts your case.

Everyone on here goes through a long and trying process. What makes your case more important than others? There are some cases whose petition has been pending more than a year! It hasn't even been 6 months since your NOA1, which IS still within normal processing time.

Patience is a virtue. :D

Call and tell them its unacceptable ??? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *takes deep breath* HAHAHAHAAHA ,

If 50+ service requests , constant calls, congressman inquiry and lawyer calls don't get the message across, then what does? Calling is a joke , you get a call center and they dont care , they put in a service request which goes no where, just to get you off the phone

You can wait on the line for tier2, it does no good.

Maybe a mass protest infront of the USCIS offices and some media attention would help?

After 6+ months of waiting for our NOA2 (at the CSC, which was molasses then while the VSC was whipping out NOA2s like free coupons), I cursed USCIS up one side and down the other. (To this day, when I call a business and I'm put on hold and the phone music is the same as USCIS's music, I still experience dread.)

That torment was nothing compared to the inhuman, inhumane, criminal treatment thereafter at the hellhole, accursed, ####### consulate. (Little do many participants of this thread know, but they could be facing the same. Take warning.)

It was a breath of fresh air to deal with USCIS after that. AOS/EAD/AP (at the VSC) were a breeze. The beginnings of the ROC process (at the VSC) have proceeded as expected. Yes, my ex-Congressman's immigration aide was right: "USCIS is our VERY worst [Federal agency]." No, this wait for the NOA2 might not be the worst part of the immigration journey that you'll face. If this is the worst of it, count your blessings. Perspective, my friends.

She's the typical loud mouthed, got my NOA2 in under 4 months, moron that we see here on VJ trying to tell us her life story (which by the way, no one cares about)to try and justify coming into this thread and acting like a fool.

Got news for ya Squeaky, fitting name by the way after reading what you posted in this thread, what USCIS tells the people and what they tell their staff are two different things...then again you must believe everything the government says. :bonk:

Don't like it? Then don't read it or post in it.

Yes I would pay as big a fee as necessary for an expedited process. The fact that the official USCIS website gives a 5 month processing time and they don't meet that should be enough to make anyone squirm. The fact that anything just under 6 months is considered "normal processing time" should be a huge red flag. I have considered moving to Brazil several times, but I know that the US is a land of opportunity and the principles it was founded upon make it one of the greatest countries on earth. That being said, America deserves a lot better! When you need a passport you can pay an extra fee and have it in a matter of days. I completely understand that a visa for a foreign national requires, as it should, some extra background checks and other verifications. But honestly if it IS in fact just a matter of man power then make that clear and let the people do something about it, such as one suggested extra fees. Excellent idea!

I stand by my original post as well as all others that I have made or will make in the future referring to the same subject. The current immigration system is unacceptable across the board.

Since you feel so strongly, If and When you become a Naturalized citizen feel free to VOTE and let the government know what you think. Until then you'll have to sit and wait like the rest of the crowd trying to Immigrate.
