Hi Everyone!

Wow very long time that I didnt came here!

I have a question!

My conditionnal green card expires on June 25 2011. So I started to get ready to fill the form to remove the conditions on March 25th.

What a surprise when yesterday I got a mail from the USCIS that remind me to do so!

Am I the only one to get a reminder?

it's normal. I got a reminder from USCIS 3months before my greencard was about to expire. You are in the right track.

Great! Thank you for your answer!

It was confusing as I am pretty sure the FAQ states that the USCIS never send a reminder.

Yes, what a surprise. I had gotten one also. Note to everyone: don't wait for them to send you a letter, if you never get letter and forget to do ROC it could be bad. So mark your calendars. :)

Nov 06 2008 INTERVIEW

Posted (edited)

Our letter went to our old address even though we changed our address with USCIS over a year before. The people who bought our house called that they got it. Other people had the same experience. Apparently change of address doesn't filter down to the ROC reminders and they go to where the greencard was delivered.

It was confusing as I am pretty sure the FAQ states that the USCIS never send a reminder.

That means USCIS is under no obligation to remind you, however, if USCIS does state they will send one reminder.

Some people do not get them, for various reasons.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
