CNN: 'Don't use your cellphone within 50 feet of a suspicious object, you might detonate something'...

So if you see a bomb sitting on the ground...... DO NOT USE YOUR CELLPHONE TO CALL 911.... Instead move the bomb 50 feet away then call 911....:no::no:

I'm just mostly upset about the contact lens solution. I had it packed in my carry on for tomorrow because it's the one thing I would really have a hard time finding down in Mexico. Like even in Guadalajara, which is a big city, in one of their 24 hour superstores, they didn't have any. So I'm worried about that. Mostly everything else liquid-wise is replacable. Unfortunately, I've got this mindset that is counting on my luggage being lost so I had everything separated into "must arrive" and "can get lost" categories, so it's going to be a stressful trip for me tomorrow, no doubt, for more reasons than one. Couldn't be easy though, because then it wouldn't be me.

You'll be fine.

How come they don't sell contact lens solution in Mexico? Can you pick some up at the airport when you arrive?

You sound like my mother. She always says that-"you'll be fine." I don't think it's that they don't sell contact lens solution, it's that we haven't figured out where to find it. I bet if we found an eye doctor we could probably get some. Other than that, I don't know why it's not sold widely-maybe a lot of Mexicans don't wear contacts...

TSA has clarified their ban on liquid to say "NO LIQUIDS OR GELS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED IN CARRY ON BAGGAGE. ITEMS MUST BE IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. This includes all beverages, shampoo, sun tan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency. Exception: Baby formula and medicines must be presented for inspection at the checkpoint. Beverages purchased in the boarding area (beyond the security checkpoint) must be consumed before boarding because they will not be permitted on board the plane."

We recommend that if you are carrying a medication that you also bring a doctor's note explaining the need for you to carry this medication onto the plane.

For any travelers going to/from the United Kingdom, there will be NO carry on bags allowed until further notice.

Can you mail some to Javier before you leave?

No, I'm leaving at 7 am tomorrow, which at this point means I'll need to be at the airport by like 3 or something, and I just got back to work from the post office, taking care of yet another emergency, so there's no way I'll be able to go back. Not to mention the last time I sent Javier something with US mail it took about 2 weeks to arrive. I'll be alright-just hoping for the best. I know that today has not been my day so far, so I guess tomorrow has to go better.

they aren't even going to allow people on planes anymore

Instead of going travelling for a year, gap year students will loaf at home and "travel the world through books". After all, reading about it is just the same as going there.

I'm sure the latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator will be most realistic, and no need to worry about terrorism either - unless you buy the optional expansion pack ;)

Fedex it. Most Fedex Kinkos outlets are open 24 hours. You can do it now if you want.

Medicines are allowed. I'd say contact lens solution counts as medicine. Just don't bring a big bottle and they'll probably allow it.

From my understanding, only perscription medicenes are allowed, and the name on the bottle must match the name on your passport. I could be wrong.

I would say wear glasses.. I am sure you are not a person wanting to blow up a plane but others out in this world all .. the safest way is no exceptions.. I would not feel safe if I saw someone next to me with contact lens solution if I was flying today.
