You wouldn't go wrong by moving to Toronto - awesome city! If my hubby didn't have kids, he would have moved there to be with me rather than me moving here. I miss it.

Compared to the US equivalents, which Canadian city is not nicer?

I know for myself and probably many Canadians, it was a big step down in living standards of my surrounding area moving to the US. Over here, people get excited over nice gated communities. Yet seem dazed when I say what's it like when you go outside.

Edited by Booyah!

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I have to admit, the whole gated thing freaks me out. It's like no one feels safe here. On the other hand, Houston is a very nice city to live in, lots to do, and the weather sure beats the ####### out of Canada. But Toronto was so vibrant and electrifying. I'm glad I got to spend 7 years there. We may move back when his kids are older.

What's wrong with gated communities? The US leads the world in gated communities, only they call them prisons.

Actually, I do have some news. I told my husband today that I'm terminating the lease on our house, with the aim of moving some place smaller. I can't afford the upkeep on a 3-bed, 2-car garage place anymore when it's just me and the cat living there. He'll have to find cheaper storage for his stuff. My aim is to be in Pasadena by mid-August.star_smile.gif

You don't get out much, do you? :hehe:

Good for you! But what happened to the plan for closer proximity to Canadian boys? LOL

I am talking about girls who want to punch on and basically act like young male thugs.

That's been going on forever, Pilgrim, in one form or another. And I find it very telling that you choose to blather on in your glass-is-half-empty manner about your pet-peeve theory of unintended consequences, rather than acknowledge and celebrate the tremendous amount of good which has resulted from the struggle for equality and justice for women. Perhaps the unintended consequence of your thread is that it makes you appear to be a misogynist of the first order.

That song once came on while I was driving down Colorado Blvd in my Stang-a-lang. One of those perfect synergistic moments between reality and song. I had another last week when I was driving down Highland (in the Snoreus) and "Ooh La" by the Kooks was on -- just as I slowly crawled by a sign that said "Welcome to Hollywood" in bumper to bumper traffic, and the singer intoned "Don't go to Hollywood." I thought: yeurgh, too true.

I can always import one. That IS what this forum is for, no?unsure.gif
