this is a nice thread. marriage is definitely hard work, but SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it. i'm very grateful he's here. it's an adjustment for him, definitely, but for me, too. i'm still at the stage where i'm pleasantly surprised he's there every morning when i wake up and every evening when i come home, and it's even better on the weekends. :)

my cousin got married last april and i'll never forget the advice the priest gave them. he said that their marriage was a triangle, with the two of them at the base, and God at the top. i try to apply that same philosophy in our home.

good luck to all of us, and never stop working at your marriages. :)

Good reminder. My husband is finally here so we are just starting our "happy ending". It is definitely nice to see him everyday and I haven't gotten tired of seeing him around yet! :thumbs: LOL. I'm just feeling really blessed right now and I hope that I'm able to come back a few years from now still feeling the same way.

I can now finally post here although I have not married my fiance yet but we will be married in the next week. I can honestly say it is the best thing that ever happened to me He is the best and I can honestly say we are a match made in heaven. 05/17/2010 – Petition mailed to USCIS via certified return receipt.
05/27/2010 – NOA1 issued
06/03/2010 – Touch/NOA1 hard copy received in US Mail
10/27/2010 – 5 month mark
10/28/2010 – Spoke to USCIS representative – 'still pending'
11/04/2010 – Spoke to USCIS representative – 'still pending', but service request generated
11/05/2010 – Notified that background checks are not complete - looks like we're in for a looong wait...
12/07/2010 – Received email notification of NOA2
12/16/2010 – NVC sent the case to Embassy in Malawi
02/28/2011 – Interview
03/14/2011 – VISA APPROVED!

My finace went to his interview on the 21st. We know that we may have a 3 month delay but he will be here soon. All they ask is for WU reciepts, which he has, and they will approve the visa. All is signed and ready to go. God bless everyone. Merry Christmas to all.

Ok just wanted to update everyone I am MARRIED!!!!! we said I do on Dec. 31, 2010 Thank GOD although we will have a large ceremony next year the day was magical we were dressed in Nigerian Native surrounded by those that loved and supported us on our journey. we are in the process of putting together the Adjustment of Status papers to hopefully send them soon. It has almost been two months since my husbands arrival and it truly feels like forever that we have been together....loves him!!!!

wow, what a great thread. i haven't been around in years so its wonderful to hear about how folks are doing. my husband and i celebrated our 3 year anniversary in Nov 2010. we are applying to remove conditions which what brings me here. we had our little "big girl" two years ago. as most have mentioned, we too have had our ups and downs,but together we move forward on our journey. best to all of you. and to the those awaiting their fiances, remember to enjoy the last of your semi-single days :P !!!
