I am at a loss for words. I said I was a victim, and I did in no way compare myself or my family to someone who lost their life.

Further, there is an amount of good and bad in every religion, but there is a disproportionate number of bad in Islam. There is a horrible double standard in the world my friend. When the U.S. stacks a naked pyramid of Iraqi prisoners, all hell breaks loose. However, when Islamists decide to blow up pizzarias or saw off peoples heads, where is the rioting from the islamic community, decrying these "perverters of Islam?"

That is why I'm angry. I am not hateful, I am angry that the islamic community holds a double standard on human life. That of muslims, and that of the infidels.

Financially almost all americans were affected!!!! My own father lost $800, 000 of his retirement after Sept 11th, but we are happy that we didn't lose our lives! I can't even believe you have the nerve to compare your financial losses from 9/11 to those who lost their loved ones and their lives. There is no comparison my friend.

The reason I don't need to explain " the massive numbers of muders and destruction..." is quite simple. I accept the fact that there is good and bad and in every religion. I accept the fact that there is good and bad in every race. For every bad thing a muslim has done we can show you a good thing that a muslim has done. For every crime that is commited by an american we can show you a good deed commited by an american. There is bad and good in everything. Don't hold innocent people responsible for the acts of others.

I know what victim means...but sadly your financial incovience does not make you a victim of 9/11. These are the victims of 9/11.

Life is full of double standards So basically what you think is that there are no muslims protesting to the acts of terror in the world?

So then do you riot everytime someone that has something in common with you commits an act of terror? Do all Catholics riot everytime a priest molests a child? Do Christian always riot when an abortion clinic is bombed.

I'm sure you would like to hold someone responsible for the horrific terrorist acts that have happened in the world but this is a completly irrational way of doing it. For the man that blew up that pizzeria is now dead...he acted on his own. I'd like to know what you expect from muslims exactly. I mean there are many that are against violence and terrorism however even with that, people continue to focus on the "Islamic terrorists" instead.

It is if you're talking about Arabs or muslims with a specific ethnic heritage.

Semantics at the end of the day - people here have and continue to make baseless sweeping generalisations about an entire group of people that represents many nations, ethnicities and societies around the world. Call it what you like, it isn't fair or justifiable.

Well, the bottom one sums up how a lot of us feel.... that Islamic extremists/terrorists are holding the world hostage to their whims. I guess part of being overly sensitive to these things also includes not even acknowledging that people are scared. We shouldn't fear these freaks, because that's HATE and INTOLERANCE. Yeah, whatever.

Don't blame the rest of the world for feeling as they do, blame the terrorist chopfcuks for causing the rest of the world to be wary of all Muslims. If it were 20 or 30 of them, fine. We're talking thousands or more of these gun and knife wielding psychos running around killing people and blowing things up. When it's a number that large, it kinda stops being just a small fringe group "that doesn't represent the rest of the muslim world"....

Islamic terrorist/extremist is the key word. You think I don't and they don't acknowledged people are scared? You think we are not scared ourselves? However I lash out at people just bcz they happen to be muslim. HUGE difference.

No one is blaming anyone for feeling scared, but at the same time, alot of fear is caused by ignorance. When ignorant statements are posted, I take offense to them and try to show the other side of the fence.

I am posting in a public forum where there are many people of many different backrounds and religions, I don't think it's appropriate to post things that could be offensive to them and if you do, they have everyright to DEBATE and DEFEND themselves. If people posted absolutely nothing that offended anyone, then there would be a big, empty white space where VJ is. If someone posts that they received their NOA2 within 40 days, then at least one of the people who has waited 100 days+ is going to be offended. Maybe some people are offended by cutsie pictures of kittens. I'll bet that the picture of Medusa offended at least one person. Anything at all has the potential of offending someone.

What I really don't understand though is the "Or maybe you you just want a license to bash people whenever you want in OT?" statement. I didn't bash anyone, I just pointed out what that cartoon meant to a lot of Americans. If that's "bashing", then you have a VERY broad definition of the term. Risto's post above this one IS bashing.
