After the visa was in our hands.

In fact, my fiancee did not leave Peru until 5 months after the interview. Evrything happened so quickly (start of paperwork to visa in 4 months) that she was not ready to leave and I was not ready for her to arrive. I was moving soon to start a new job.

I was planning to buy the ticket after I get the interview date. I'm thiking of buying a tiket departing from Kiev 15 days after the interview. What do you think???

But it was for over a month after the interview....just in case.

I am going to buy her visa for 2 1/2 weeks after interview date, this may be risky since her interview is december 29th and the embassy has stated they will be closed for the 1-10th of January I hope she can get her visa in time, willing to chance it, and pay the extra if we roll snake eye

Really good point. Know the holiday schedule at the embassy you will visit and plan accordingly.

My planned departure date is in the beginning of February, and I had my passport with my visa in it October 10th, so it's not much of an issue for me. I usually buy anywhere from two weeks to a month and a half out, but I'd never consider buying a ticket before having the visa.

I bought my ticket because it was in a sale for 260 GBP, bargain!!!! It was dated 3 weeks after my interview & it was a gamble that paid off.

my husband baught his the day he got the visa. he was on a plane maybe 2 days after that.
