We both are kind of messy, hubby is messier than I am. I hate all that cigarette ash all over computer table and him dropping the wet towel on the couch or bed. All I have to do is yell and it works for a few days then again back to normal. But its cool, I get to yell every now and then, I am happy :)

I agree with one poster who said pick your battles. Does it really matter?

I thought I was tidy until I lived with my ex-navy hubby who is super tidy. The trick is to just meet half way...any person who lives alone for some time & then has a partner move in with them is gonna struggle with adapting, but it takes time to adjust.

Subtle hints would help so that you dont sound like you have OCD! lol

Ha, Battles, had one with my wife for our granddaughters first birthday. Found a Disney pink princess riding toy I liked, she agreed to that. Read lots of reviews on it, sound was way too loud, it was and the back handle felt off. I didn't like the +/- 3 degree steering angle, want my granddaughter to learn how to steer so learned I could increase that to +/- 26 degrees so did, the limit was so the wheels would not hit the front or rear wheel wells. Decreased the sound level by 3db, more pleasant in a subjective test and added heavy screws to the rear handle.

That caused the first problem, wouldn't fit back in the box the way my wife felt a present should be given, but did save the box at least as proof we didn't buy it from the Salvation Army. We compromised on that, said would be way too much work to disassemble it, so we would wrap it and bring along the box with the instructions and all that in it. I was just going to bring it and hand it to her, we differ on opinions, and heck, can't rely on my son to put it together, and didn't want to bring a bunch of tools along. So this morning, went shopping for wrapping paper, man, that stuff is expensive, plus the ribbons and all that. We couldn't find wrapping paper large enough so purchase two rolls of scotch tape to piece it together. Think it took more time to wrap it, but finally got it done. Next disagreement was putting it in the car, she thought the back seat would be best, but I carefully laid it down sideways in the trunk. Said if an idiot pulls out in front of us, will fly off the rear seat and land on the floor, much safer, but I will take the responsibility for that. It got there in one piece.

At the party, seven of my granddaughters cousins were there, all little kids, my daughter-in-law opened the presents, one rip and hours of work was done. Son picked up all the wrapping paper, and tossed in the trash, seven bucks down the drain and two hours work, I just stared at my wife, she grinned. An hour went by before I finally got her new toy and her together to enjoy it, all of her cousins were playing with it. But at least they didn't break it, another toy she received from an aunt was broken already before she got a chance to play with it. But it's family.

Thankfully, both my hubby and I are neat and organized. We both worried about the other when we first met until we saw each other's homes and saw that we were exactly the same.

I hate clutter and I like everything to have it's place.

Now, try having a teenage daughter (mine) move into our "heaven" a year after we were married..... that was "interesting"!!!!!!

Seeing those pics. That isn't bad at all. I am a bit messy but Dave is WAY worse. I am happy he lets me have the Master bath to myself, he moved all his bathroom stuff into the guest bathroom to give me more room. Unfortunately this also means the guest bedroom is now completely useless since he also occupied the guest bed and the floor around it with all his dirty clothes. The fact that he has a hamper right next to his side of our bed has apparently totally gone him by....
