I´ve brought rum bottles, taken guava candy and other homemade stuff and never been asked anything.

And you know how they say not to check in luggage that has bottles in it ´cus if they break they´ll wet other people´s luggage? I brought 3 bottles of Bacardi (hey, I was at PR´s Bacardi factory! I just HAD to bring it) and yep, one broke, when I opened my bag all my clothes had that Bacardi smell. Guess it doesn´t hurt to listen to customs service, eh? :P
