But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I use this place to get stuff to clean up stuff like this:

Planet Urine

It works pretty good.

If you don't want to spend the money, you can go buy some baking soda, or borax, and use that to absorb the mess. You will need to pull up the carpet and get under it, or the smell will never go away.

They also sell diapers for cats - to prevent this. You may want to take the cat to the vet - normally cats do not do this, even if they are old.

It could be an infection or perhaps they litter box needs replacing?

Ok, this must be some sort of joke or something because someone else posted this exact same question in the exact same words on Bloody-Disgusting.com, a horror movie site forum the hubby and I are members of. And someone on there had commented that they'd seen in on other forums.

There are a number of good products on the market. You need to buy something that has enzymes in it to 'digest' the protein matter left in the carpet - most household and carpet cleaners don't have that so you don't remove the smell - it just covers it for a while. Cats will often go back to the same area they have used before because they can still smell the trace amounts of urine left behind.

Nature's Miracle is one of the best and can be purchased at PetSmart or PetCo or pet supply stores. It is safe to use on carpets - you basically soak the area, making sure you can get down to the carpet underpad beneath if you have one and it 'digests' the protein markers left behind.

Another one that I have found that works great is "Pee Pee Super Stain & Odor Remover". It is safe to use around children and pets, has a money back guarantee (you won't need to use that, the stuff does work!). It is made by Pet Select, PO Box 828, Yorktown VA. There isn't a website listed but you may be able to find suppliers by searching online for it. I think, but don't know for sure, that I got my bottle at PetSmart. (Ok - went and checked - it's available at Walmart online http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3635676 ).

You can also purchase a 'black light' which is a handheld wand and locate places where the cat has urinated on the carpet. They are also relatively inexpensive and worthwhile.

Hope this helps. You might also get a very low ledge litter box. Older cats sometimes have arthritis as well and they find using a covered or higher ledged litter box very difficult. If the box is difficult to use, the cat will go elsewhere. Good luck.

Oh, also, have the vet check your cat out - he may have urinary tract infection or kidney problems. There are medical solutions that can help in those cases, even for older cats.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
