I have talked about this with Leidys, and about once every 5 years sounds about right.

Seriously, how often do you plan to go back and visit?

I might be going back to India for a month next year, around March or April 2010 I guess. I will be going alone, Joe won't get that long of a leave and he does realise that I miss home.

We plan on going every alternate year, so will see how it works out. Right now its cool, I can go whenever I want to but not sure what will happen in a few years time when we will have kids and all.

I had figured on every four years but we haven't reached our first year yet so don't know if we'll do it that way.

We went Christmas of 07 and they came last summer and are coming in one month. My husband isn't big on family, so I don't think we would go more than every 2 or 3 years. We may go for a vacation and stop by for a few days, but that would be it.

Even prior to getting married, I traveled to Egypt, at least once every couple years (I have family there). Although, we will make it a point to travel back home at least once a year. Would love more, but have to work around vacation times with school and work.

My wife has been a Costa Rican resident since 2002 and we've been together since 03, now she is ready to make the "non-tourist" move to the states. She has tried to be able to get back to Colombia once a year for several weeks or so while living in C.R. and we'll try our best to see that she can continue once here.

I went last year for 12 days (well 10 days really as 2 spent in traveling to and from) and today we're both going for 3 weeks - I'll go into minus on vacation time but they're understanding at work.

I'm promised Del that once we get to the US we will do everything we can in our power to help him come home once a year. I most likely wont be able to come with him due to lack of money for both of us, but I want him to be able to come home once a year, at least for now. His parents are getting older and I want him to see them as much as possible.

My mom moved to GA from Mass back in 1975 and she went home to Mass once a year for 10 years until her dad (my grandfather) died. She was always sad that she only saw her dad 10 times in the last 10 years of her life. Unfortunately for those of us with partners from abroad one of the partners will have to be away from their family, but I want to make it as less as possible! If we were to stay here in Brazil, I would want to go home once a year as well. So even if we can only afford for him to go and visit every year (and maybe for me to come too once every 3 years or so), that's what we have to do!
