So I just joined this site because I recently got engaged and my friend recommended VJ (she met her husband while working for the Peace Corps in his home country). I met my fiance the old-fashioned way. We both happened to be on holiday in the same town, walking down the same street, and started chatting. Before we knew it, the afternoon had flown by and we had to say goodbye. After that, we kept in touch profusely and developed a close friendship and mutual affection--but nothing at all romantic. I went back to visit him this summer, both of us without any expectations. By the end of my month with him and his family, we were engaged.

Now it seems that a lot of couples on this site met via the internet, so I'm just curious about people's stories...those who are willing to share.

we meet online but were just friends at first. I wrote to her and she had just gotten out of a relationship that had gone bad and she was very nice to me but told me she was not interested in talking to anyone at that time. So i put that note in my head and a couple of months later I tried again, She still answered me very nicely and said she still was not ready to get involved with anyone. I rememeber thinking wow that is the kindest rejection I had ever had lolz (both times) well I would give it some time and keep trying, the site we meet on had a chatroom. One night she came in the chatroom and I spoke to her, after a short time she ask me if I wanted to chat in private and that was the luckest day of my life because now we are waiting on Dec 19 for her interview and hopefully we will be married soon in 2009.
