:) <EOM>

I hate the welfare sysytem because it's designed to keep poor people poor forever.I grew up with people who we used to call "lifers".Generations of women on welfare,it's sad.I am a US citizen and a liberal democrat.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE

I HATE the KKK, but I'd stop there. I believe that welfare is OK if temporary and for those who NEED it, like single mothers. But it is NOT a way of life, and that pisses me off when people have more children and refuse to work so that WE can pay for their fun.

Female USC

Registered Democrat (I'm a teacher)

Yup....the KKK is about the only thing I truly despise. I don't hate the people involved....I think they're poor misguided souls who have been educated improperly. However, I truly HATE what they teach and promote. The ideals.

Female USC

Registered Voter (Teacher as well)

Welfare...as Bora says...IF and only IF it is truly needed (as with any other assistance).

BTW, using the word "hate" is sometimes just used as a word...kinda like "I hate (food or drink of your choice)" for example. I do try to be aware of saying it and substitute "I really can't stand....." or something along that line.

Hi Everyone,

Hmmmm....What I dislike (not hate, as that's such a strong word) about America is:

1) The fact that Americans don't spell words and write numbers properly, as in the way it was intended to when the English invented it and the way it's spelt in Canada and other coutnries too, which is more formal and makes more sense. For example: colour not color, centre not center, cheque not check, grey not gray, dd/mm/yyyy not mm/dd/yyyy. Oh and did I mention about the metric system and not the non-metric system? I guess that this would be under the "academics" category...

2) The ever so painstaking, time-consuming, and expensive immigration system. Immigration should be a right, and not a privillage for the rich! And you would think that if you're paying so much for the immigration process, they would get it done quickly too! I guess this would fall under the "immigration" category (if there is such a choice/category on this poll)...

Other than that, not much else I can complain about. I love my "new" life here in America and love my husband (L) ...

I hate the KKK was my answer, USC female, no party affiliation.

I think some key things were left off of this vote that I hate about my country:

our horribly inefficient immigration system!

lobbyist control over our government

excessive spending in DC (paying for community items with federal funds, our national debt, etc)

our healthcare system (15% with no insurance!)

our K-12 school system (ok, this is MY bias as a former teacher)

few truly national holidays (what i wouldn't give for more holidays EVERYONE got off work...)

Don't get me wrong, though. I'm a patriot through and through. I gripe because we CAN do better!

Funny thing is mensa means "dolt" in Spanish.

And it's what the cafeteria at P's uni in Germany is called....Everytime P said "I ate at the Mensa today" I giggled a little inside.

So, don't like the KKK. I have a difficult time accepting that anyone does, but as I am a Louisiana girl, I know people do like it.

I think our education system can be improved upon.

Welfare is ok for people to get back on their feet. I had state medical insurance and received WIC when I was 19 and had my son. That didn't stop me from finishing college, and grad school, and having jobs since I was 15 to support myself. I couldn't have finished college and grad school if I hadn't had the chance to get some public assistance for 2 years and I am not ashamed of that (it was'n't welfare, but it was still public assistance). It's when people abuse the system, as Bora said, that I take issue.

Er, I can't really vote since none of the options of the first one apply to me, and the poll won't let me pick zero.

I hate nationalism, freedom fries patriotism, and today's "terrorist" nonsense, as well as both the Democratic and Republican parties, as neither party really represent the people, and somehow the people keep stupidly voting for them.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I don't hate anything, but I do think the presidential election requires huge reform. It's a bloated waste of money, it's long winded and it doesn't do anything to promote politics.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Spelt is something you can use to make bread for no-wheat eaters. It's spelled, actually. Or, is that another American mis-spelting? Hee hee...

I looked at the last poll on what do you love about America.

The number claiming MENSA membership was way beyond average.

"Candidates for membership in Mensa must achieve a score at or above the 98th percentile on a standard test of intelligence (a score that is greater than or equal to that achieved by 98 percent of the general population taking the test)."

http://www.mensa.org/index0.php?page=10

This crowd must be: A) really smart B) delusional C) joking D) lying.

Knowing this forum it's probably B, C and D.

Da*n, I missed it by 2 points! LOL is there a jr mensa? 96th? ha!

give me a break its 230 am, and im going to bed now.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
