"Enter the Invoice Identification Number provided to you by the NVC. This information is located in the Online Payment Instructions that you received."

This would require waiting for the AOS Fee Bill to arrive so the JSC way could still be quicker although people say speed isn't that important with the AOS Fee bill as it is with the DS-3032. However, since you can't generate the random number on the IV bill, this way could be quicker (and cheaper!) than express mailing back the IV bill payment. I'll read my instructions carefully when they arrive to make sure that it has the online instructions/invoice identification number to process online.

Also....you apparently can pay BOTH your fee bills at the same time through that, but I have emailed NVC to get more clarifiaction on that....waiting on a reply.

That doesn't appear to be so. You have to wait for the Invoice Identification Number to be provided to you by the NVC to make a payment. If you try just making up a number, you risk delaying your case.

It is important to follow the NVC’s instructions carefully. Sending the NVC documentation (or paying fees) when they were not requested by the NVC will result in a delay in processing.

This is NOT something I am guessing....

Taken from the DOS website:

Can the AOS and IV fee be paid together (on one bill)?

* Payment by Online Payment (Option 1): Yes, the AOS and IV fees can both be paid online.

* Payment by Mailing a Cashier's Check or Money Order (Option 2): Yes, the AOS and IV fees can be paid together. Make sure the cashier's check or money order is prepared for the total dollar amount of the fees. Again, all payments must be accompanied by the corresponding Option 2 Fee Bills. See Mailing Addresses for the mailing address for Combined Payments.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...l#paid_together

As I said...I have emailed them seeking clarification about it. When I get a reply I will be sure to update the board. This could be a valuable step that can be added to the "shortcuts".

I had asked this question a few days ago.....no one seems to know about it! This is why I have emailed NVC to ask them the proceedure.

I think that the IIN number might be something you have to get from the NVC to facilitate online payments. Not sure though...when I get a reply I will post.

They can be paid together if the NVC requests both payments from you. I'm not sure about other visa types but with the IR1/CR1 they're not going to request the IV bill from you until your AOS fee bill has been received. Perhaps with an I-140 it's different which would explain why they'd allow payment together. As mentioned on the online payments page, sending in fees before they're requested can delay your processing. You don't find out the IIN until you get the instructions in the mail unless they'll give it out over the phone and I'll bet that the IIN is different for the two bills as well. Any other number put in that box would just be a guess. I'll be interested to see what they reply.

First, this certainly must be a new service from NVC. While it isn't quite the bankwire service they really should offer, it is a step in the right direction and a sorely-needed feature.

I' very sure the "Invoice Identification Number" is the mysterious serial number in the barcode on the IV fee bill, which is the reason why we can't shortcut that step in the process. However, there is no such number on the AOS fee bill, so it is not clear how the AOS fee bill can be paid by this service (other than by leaving Invoice Identification Number blank, if the system will accept that).

When I got fee bills in the Fall of 2007, there was no mention of the online payment option in the instructions. Has anyone who recently received a fee bill from NVC know what if the newest instructions say another about this payment method?

I douBle checked my AOS Bill NVC sent me, there is no invoice numBer on it only the case #. I would like to know how we can get an invoice numBer?

The IV fee bill generation is dependent only on the return of the DS-3032, not payment of the AOS fee bill.

Only family-based immigration cases require the I-864 Affidavit of Support. I-140 petitioned cases specifically do not include the I-864 affidavit of support at all, except in the case where the employer is a relative or a relative has significant ownership interest (five percent or more) in the entity that filed the petition.

This new payment feature is something watch closely as NVC makes further announcements about how it works.
