NVC Online payment option

This is why I have emailed.....I do not think that IIN number is something on either of the fee bills. I think it is something you have to get from the NVC if you wish to pay your bills online. I think there is a set of instructions that must be obtained by the NVC to be able to utilize the online payment feature. I had figured out by looking at the fee bill from Jame's Shortcuts that there is no IIN number on that and you MUST have it to pay either bill using the online feature.

When I get a reply I will be sure to update! This could be big.

The IV fee bill has the IIN number you speak of in the extended barcode area. The AOS fee bill does not have it, however.

You'll get a better, faster answer from NVC by just calling them rather than sending an email which they might simply ignore.

This is NOT something I am guessing....

Taken from the DOS website:

Can the AOS and IV fee be paid together (on one bill)?

* Payment by Online Payment (Option 1): Yes, the AOS and IV fees can both be paid online.

* Payment by Mailing a Cashier's Check or Money Order (Option 2): Yes, the AOS and IV fees can be paid together. Make sure the cashier's check or money order is prepared for the total dollar amount of the fees. Again, all payments must be accompanied by the corresponding Option 2 Fee Bills. See Mailing Addresses for the mailing address for Combined Payments.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...l#paid_together

As I said...I have emailed them seeking clarification about it. When I get a reply I will be sure to update the board. This could be a valuable step that can be added to the "shortcuts".

They can be paid together if the NVC requests both payments from you. I'm not sure about other visa types but with the IR1/CR1 they're not going to request the IV bill from you until your AOS fee bill has been received. Perhaps with an I-140 it's different which would explain why they'd allow payment together. As mentioned on the online payments page, sending in fees before they're requested can delay your processing. You don't find out the IIN until you get the instructions in the mail unless they'll give it out over the phone and I'll bet that the IIN is different for the two bills as well. Any other number put in that box would just be a guess. I'll be interested to see what they reply.

This is what i was thinking. How can you pay them together when you won't receive one til well after the other. Either you are holding off paying your aos fee bill til after you get your IV fee bill in mail (this can delay you a good amount of time), plus I'm not sure the IV bill will be generated without first paying the AOS fee bill. This is a bit confusing. I think that its good to pay the IV fee bill or AOS fee bill online instead of overnighting it back to them, but paying them together seems slower than JS.

IV fee bill should generate independently of whether the AOS fee bill has been paid. To pay both together, it goes without saying that you would have to not pay the AOS fee bill before you get the IV fee bill.

If the I-130 was filed with an attorney's G-28, the IV fee bill and AOS fee bill will generate at the same time (just after NVC assigns the case number) and be sent to the attorney. So, it is possible.

What I want to know (and everybody else probably), is how do you pay the AOS fee bill by itself before the IV fee bill is received, since the AOS fee bill doesn't (or at least until recently it has not) include an Invoice Number. Can somebody call NVC operators and get the Invoice Number for the AOS fee bill from them?

In fact, I wonder if NVC will initially act on a DS-3032 the same way it does for a G-28 if a signed DS-3032 is included with the I-130 petition when it was filed with USCIS?

Somebody here who hasn't yet filed the I-130 for consular processing (or has an open RFE on the petition) might just want to try doing that...

It seems like that NVC updated their website very recently. I don't see update of online payment at other NVC FAQ site http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...o_3180.html#Pay

I am guessing that anyone who recently got AOS fee bill document generated in APRIL might have Invoice Identification Number printed. NVC last updated their website for AOS fee bill on April 3 as per website page properties.

Looking forward to see how we can incorporate online fee payment into James's Shortcuts.

If the Invoice Identification Number has been added to the AOS fee bill, the AOS fee bill shortcut may be broken!---We won't be able to make AOS fee bills anymore the same way we can't make IV fee bills which have had this number on them all along.

The new shortcut would be to use the online payment system instead, and whether we can shortcut anything there depends on: (1) Will NVC give the Invoice Identification Number over the telephone now that we know what to call it and there is a legitimate reason to ask for it? and/or (2) will the AOS fee bill and the IV fee bill have the same Invoice Identification Number?

Currently, the AOS fee bill barcode has only the case number, not the IIN.

The IIN is something additional that we've only seen on the IV fee bill so far.

I thought that it might be a good idea to include the link for online payment here

<https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx>

I got a question though..would the AOS bill and IV bill would be sent together now, or do we still have to wait for the IV bill to be generated to do that after the AOS fee is paid??
