I have an 86 Honda Crx, with almost 190,000 miles on it... I hope someday to upgrade to something at least in the 90's but for now.....

Reasons to Drive An Old Car.....

1. Never need to wash it ( it would look the same anyhow)

2. You can enter the car Dukes of Hazzard style ( yep my passenger side window never rolls the whole way up)

3. You can customize the car with bumperstickers.

4. Duct Tape is My Best Repair Tool

5. My mechanic feels sorry for me and never charges me for minor repairs.

6. Insurance is way low, and I can just carry liablity.

Anybody else?

I drive my Mom's old 81 Honda Wagon, and its a fantastic car.

1) I know the original owner.

2) It AVERAGES 43 miles per gallon!!!!! Which I am really liking right now.

3) It only has 80,000 miles on it.

4) Its versatile (you can move stuff, camp, fish, buy big items --such as a washer, big screen tv, etc-- and fit them in it)

5) It never gets stuck in the snow unless I am dumb and high center it.

I used to drive a 94 VW jetta and I loved it, I finally had to trade her in for a newer vehicle though because the air conditioner stopped working and it was going to cost me $2500 to fix it, and the car wasn't even worth that, and you can't go without an air conditioner down here in south florida, so had to get rid of her, I miss her though, she was a great car, didn't have many problems out of her at all, other than the air conditioner. :(

96 camaro and a 02 pick up

another note on a reason to drive older vehicles

if the state you are in (like here in kansas) has a personal property tax, the tax is lower on older vehicles.

old car = no payments

$500 + a month plus higher insurance rates is not worth it.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

1990 Nissan Sentra...

I like it because should I drive into anything, you wouldn't know the difference

I also like it because it's small, and there are old small cars and new small cars, but damn if I can find anything in the mid-1990s!

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

I drive a '95 Honda Civic and love it cause:

It's stick-shift, so no one I know knows how to drive it (not even hubby)

It's saving me money on gas (approx. $2.90/gal. in NJ)

I can squeeze into small parking spots anywhere (where legal)

No car payments

I love not having car payments. We have a 96 Honda civic hatchback, great gas mileage! Only 70,000 miles on it now. I got it for free, which makes it even better. When I got it in 2002, it only had 17,000 miles on it. (a friend of the family's elderly mother had died, leaving behind this hardly driven car...they knew my family needed an extra car and just gave it to us, shocking huh. my dad let me have it since he knew I always wanted a civic.)

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

We have a 1994 Ford F150 with a 351 engine in it. (they just don't make them like they used to!) This is my hubby's truck as we also have a 2002 Ford Escort.

What we love about the truck:

1. It's tough.. someone could hit me and it wouldn't dent the metal

2. No car payment - it's paid for

3. Liability only

4. Because we have a cap on the back and this insert dealy in the back we can comfortably haul at least 10 people around in the truck if we really really needed to :P

5. It still runs like new and even passed the emissions test!
