Boyaa shaka laka :) I am so excited, I got my visa today after 5 months of wait, actually on the visa it says that I got it on the 26th of feb. Its valid until August. With the passport I also got a yellow packet which I am not supppose to open, hmmm? on the instructions paper it also mentions that I should carry my orginal documents and Xrays to the U.S. My xray is open and not in a sealed envelope! will that be a problem or I am just worring for no reason?

Also what should I take from the original documents....pretty much every thing right?

Just to let you guys know my P.O.E will be L.A international. Are they flexible giving work authorization stamps? Should I be prepared for any special questions they might ask?

I am so happy I am going to see my luvy dubby after 6 months :)

Congratulations!!

Are you on a K-1 visa?

Yeah, bring everything, every document and papers that you have from the start of your application, and hand carry it, it's not that the immigration officer might look for it, but it's better to be prepared. And plus, don't worry about your x-ray might as well keep it in your luggage, Immigration people don't read x-rays, you'd need it for the medical when you adjust your status.

And you don't get work authorization on POE, you'd get that when you apply for work authorization along with your adjustment of status. They would attach an I-94 form at your passport and stamp it with the date at how long would you be able to stay in the US, until you get your green card.

At your POE, they might ask about you and your fiance's love story. You'd do well don't worry. Good luck!

Congratulations!!! That's wonderful news. You must be so excited!

The sealed envelope is just all your documents (med/police..etc) that you need to hand over at your POE. Nothing to worry about but don't open it!

People have had a lot of different advice as far as the xrays go. Some are told it's ok to put it in luggage but many are also told to carry it in their hand luggage so I guess it's a personal choice. You may need it for AOS. If you carry it you can roll it into a tube to make it easier.

LAX does not give out temporary EAD at the POE. JFK is 'usually' the only POE you can get it now. The stamp is only temporary and will expire after 90 days. You can apply for this after you're married, at the same time you're applying for AOS. Here is some more information that will be helpful to you.

brother, I am so happy to hear this news!

ok, for the req'd things for port of entry, than envelope, and buy yourself those larege manila envelopes to carry your x-ray, and passport with visa

you do not need other things, no there is usually no extra questions, but if there is, they are mostly what visa catagory, how long with USC, etc and USC address and contact number -thats rare too, I think it will be smooth

Pray for me and all of us waiting, my husband just hit the 6month mark and dos was not helpful about giving positive vibes

i will advise you to do one thing - have her call the airport of your POE LA and ask what will the things that will be needed, im sure they will say the same things as most people say are those three things

do not worry, you have the visa!

I wish you a wonderful reunion

Tammy

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.
