Hello everyone!

Quick question about police records. My husband is an Iraqi national, currently living in Lebanon. He already got an Iraqi police record a few months ago through the Iraqi embassy in Lebanon. However, we noticed that it has an expiration date of 90 days. Will he need to get a new one? He hasn't gone back to Iraq since the report was completed..so logically I would think that he wouldn't need a new one..but he doesn't want to risk it and holding up the whole process.

Also, he'll be living in Lebanon for a year in June. Will he even be able to get a police record? He doesn't have any Lebanese papers. He fled Iraq and is currently able to stay in Lebanon through a UN refugee status. We were married in Lebanon in September 2016 and the NVC received our packet on April 5, 2017. They said it takes up to 11 weeks to process, so we want to make sure we have everything ready for the interview 😊

Thank you for any information!

It's my understanding that you need police records for any place you have lived for more than 6 months since the age of 16. If he's been living in Lebanon for more than 6 months, then yes I imagine he'll need a police report from Lebanon... But I would Def recommend contacting the American Embassy to confirm. Regarding IRAQ, not sure because he's no longer living there. Another great question for the embassy..  contact the embassy where he will have his appointment.

Thank you for any information!

Did you include PCC from Iraq in your "IV packet"? Was the PCC still valid (within expiry date) when NVC received it?

You will still need unexpired PCC from both countries at the time of interview, so I suggest you obtain Iraqi PCC after your Interview is scheduled, that way you will have unexpired PCC at interview. Please research on Lebanon overnment websites as to how you can obtain PCC for Lebanon.

Good luck.

I completed my DS-261 on 04/28, and I just called the NVC to ask if they could review it. I was told that I wasn't supposed to complete the DS-261 until I got the welcome email, even though I have the case and invoice number. She even said she wasn't sure how I was able to log in. I'm confused now lol.

Has anyone else had this experience?
