Hi guys, quick qtn here. I am filling in the DS 160 and there is a qtn about where I intend to stay while in the US. On the petition we had put my fiance's current residence because our plan is to lease a new apartment once we get the visa. We dont know yet where this apartment is going to be. We are doing the wedding at her mom's place down in AZ and thats where i intend to fly. So should i put my fiance's current residence as the place i intend to stay and since its what we put in the petition or I should put her mom's residence coz thats where I will actually fly to and stay before moving into the apartment we will have leased by then. please advise. Thanks

Nope, no RFE. We have heard nothing since NOA1. Yes, they are still working slowly on Nov 3rd. There are 19 cases left as of today, they've been working on 1 - 3 cases per week.

You need to put the address u use when u fill ur I129f so there will be no confusion and no question. Not unless u dont live in that address anymore then u can update it on ur application.

The address on the I-129F is only a mailing address. It doesn't even have to be somewhere you live...just somewhere you can pickup the mail. People have used a relative's address in the past without issue.

 

As for what to on the DS-160, you put the most you do know - city/state, or if not known, you can just put "Unknown". It's not a commitment to live there.

It doesn't matter where the joint sponsor lives. Moving across states is not an issue...just be sure to update the address change with USCIS (https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do). The only possible impact is for the I-134 if the federal poverty level is different (i.e. if moving from Hawaii or Alaska).

Thanks Chi for all of your support! You are too kind! I couldn't have taken all of this time of waiting if all you guys and all of your support didn't exist, don't get me wrong my fiancee is a great support as well but sometimes its nice to have the support of others who know the process a bit more. He gets to sit back and just wait this entire time, well, his time will come soon once we get NOA2 and its off to Chile!
