Problems with filling for the fiance visa

Hello everybody, I would appreciate any information you could give me. My fiance Adam (US citizen) has filled for the k1 visa, he sent an envelope in the begging of march but we never heard back from them, nor did we get the envelope back , he called them and they said they never got it, so he made another envelope and sent it in June and he didn't hear anything back this time either. We don't understand why this is happening, does anyone one?

He asked when we called if that was the right address and they said yes

Did he send it by Fed ex, or USPS and did he send it registered mail? Did your checks get cashed? what address did he send it to?

He didn't send check he sent money orders, the first one he threw away the receipt so he could check if it was cashed and the second one we didn't check

I would check your money order on the most recent to see if it was cashed and by whom.

He sent it via USPS and he didn't send checks he sent money orders so we could see if they were cashed

I would suggest he send it with tracking information, it is very cheap with USPS, and you can see where the packet is at all times.

Some friendly advice (take it for what it's worth)- Going forward, it is a very good idea to keep copies of EVERYTHING in this process (including money orders, tracking receipts, etc.) If he finds the money order receipt, and it was not cashed, he can report this as lost, and hopefully get the money back. $370 isn't a cheap amount to have to lose twice. Also, sometimes after the petition is filed, a document could have been forgotten/misplaced/eaten by a leprechaun, and having those extra copies will make it a lot easier if you find yourself responding to an RFE.

My husband takes his Oath for citizenship tomorrow and the biggest piece of advice I can give you is keep copies of everything! I mean everything and always use registered mail so you can track it.

My mistake (typo on my part)...$340, not $370. I did not want to mislead anyone into thinking they sent the wrong amount when filing the I-129F, and I'm unable to edit my original post again.

That awfully lackadaisical approach to immigration just won't cut it. This isn't like sending of an electric bill payment.

Send ONLY by a traceable method, UPS, FedEX, or USPS Priority Mail with Tracking/Express Mail with Tracking.

Pay only by check, you can see via your online banking the minute it is cashed.

Didn't keep the receipt on the first money order? Is he serious?

Just as a matter of personal curiosity, how many trips has be made to see you?

Was wondering the same thing. The documents and payment sent to USCIS for this process are probably the most important documents in your life so far. These are the documents that are required for you to live forever with the love of your life. I scanned every page we sent to keep an electronic record of everything and also made a second set of paper copies which are in my safe. The money order was photocopied and the customer receipt kept in my safe. I was tracking that package from the minute it left the house. I was tracking that money order from the minute I got the email that the package had been received by USCIS. I probably almost cause the UPS website to melt because I was tracking my package so much.

I find it odd that someone could be so blasé about the biggest thing in your life so far.
