Hello!

I've been having the same issue. it didn't stop after the biometrics appt.

I called USCIS several times without a concise answer. I talked to my lawyer and made an inquiry and it seems they are migrating from one system to another, the cases are moving but there isn't a way for us to track them online. apparently we will be wondering blindly for awhile until the issue is fixed.

That is my personal experience, I hope it is helpful to you.

You could make an inquiry by calling and select the option "I don't have a receipt number" to talk to an agent and she'll look up your receipt number.

most likely they will send you an answer to your inquiry in the mail. To be clear this won't fasten the process if everything is okay with your case.

Patience will be your best ally.

I did as you said and the agent tried connecting me to an immigration officer for the same

but it said wait time being 42 mins to put in call back number bla bla bla

so what is the next action after I have received the receipt numbers in the email and mail ?

do they call us or email us with the next plan of action ???

Well, Stayed in line to talk to the agent or wait for them to call in the timeframe they gave you.

When you speak to them you make an inquiry about the case and they will answer your questions, if they cannot at the moment the will let you know in the mail with a I-797; nothing via email.

If there is nothing to do regarding the case (meaning the process is going smoothly and just wait patiently) will be established in the I-797 which is the usual.

It's normal, it means they have not yet updated your status online. They are kinda late of doing that. Just wait and see. As long as you already have your receipts then you are fine.

If you have been able to check before and this is a new issue it could be as simply as they're doing maintenance on their system. They do it quite a lot and during that time you can't check your status online.

You need to call USCIS and talk to someone in Tier 2. We had that happen with my husband AOS. We got the letters saying they had received all of them and to wait for further instructions. We thought it was strange that he got a notice for his EAD biometrics, but had to wait until at least 30 days had passed to put in an inquiry.

Turns out they (USCIS) had entered it wrong. Now it shows they received his fingerprint fee for AOS in April, rather than February. It's set the whole process back two months. They were very helpful and it was fixed the next day. Not long after we got his biometrics notice for the AOS. By the way, we went through an attorney and paid all the fees at once.

The attorney has done nothing but turn in the fees and partial paperwork. When we had called them about the number being wrong, we were told to "Stay off the internet" and that the site was always wrong. I wish we'd done all this on our own, but it's his family's immigration law office. We thought it might be better than the stories we've heard about immigration attorneys on here...wrong!!

Good luck and keep calling until they figure it out!
