NVC - Anyone get through via phone?

Hello,

Has anyone had any luck getting through to NVC via phone? We have called numerous times, at different times of the day, and never get a human being. Just get the message that due to high call volumes, all agents are helping other customers.

Anyone have any tips/tricks to share?

the trick is to keep calling. this morning it took me 39 times and I know the system so well as soon as it picks up I hit 1,3,1,1, before he gets a word in ahha.. and then I was on hold for 30min.. so

Just called them. they received my case today. Not assigned a case number yet but close. called 10 times got through

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

the trick is to keep calling. this morning it took me 39 times and I know the system so well as soon as it picks up I hit 1,3,1,1, before he gets a word in ahha.. and then I was on hold for 30min.. so keep calling .. one time it took me 100 times then I got through.. if it rings then your good if you hear the guys voice first then just hang up and keep calling.

USCIS : 7 months
Marriage : March 21, 2014
I-130 Sent : April 18, 2014
I-130 NOA1 : April 22, 2014
I-130 Approved: November 14, 2014 ( after two service request) 

NVC: 6 months
Received : December 1, 2014
Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : January 1, 2015
Pay AOS Bill : January 9, 2015
Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015
Interview Date : January 21, 2016 medical wasn't complete
Second interview date: April 4th 2016
Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

It usually takes me 30 to 40 times to get on hold. Today (At about 10am EST) I got on the 3rd one :thumbs: (and then 25 min to get a representative)

So keep trying! Usually early in the morning and late at night are best times

USCIS:

2015/3/23: I-130 Sent: (Let's start the waiting game!)

2015/3/25: NOA1 Sent by email, case routed to the USCIS California Service Center (hardcopy 2015/6/4)

2015/4/21: NOA2 (email; got hardcopy in 2015/5/6)

NVC:

2015/5/21: Got NVC case # and IIN

2015/5/29: Filled DS261 online

2015/6/1: Payed AOS fee online

2015/6/5: Sent AOS and IV packages

2015/6/8: DS261 reviewed over the phone

2015/6/8: Scan Date

2015/7/5: Payed IV fee online

2015/7/8: Filled DS260

2015/7/23: Checklist!!

2015/7/25: Checklist Scan Date

2015/8/18: NVC CC

2015/9/11: Interview Scheduled for October 8th (no letter yet, just called NVC!)

2015/10/1: Medical

2015/10/8: Interview - Approved!!!

I find I get through quickly calling at 10am at work.. I usually get through on the 4th time and wait time is usually 20min to 30min.. guess no one calls while at work but I don't know lol.. but I guess it just depends on the day ...

another reason why I call at 10am is because I usually get the same super nice older lady

I called at 6:59 this morning since I had an hour drive.. and since ppl said it was good but my first post shows how many times it took me

I called 57times yesterday and 21times about an hour before they close but no luck. Still trying but to no avail. I guess i have to keep on calling.

Yep yesterday I called 60 times and never got through AND they closed the lines early. SMH. I would love to know what kind of phone/service you people have who are "always getting through" LOL

some days i get thru in the hold queue in 5 mins and at 2 times it took me an hour to get thru, redialling every 2-3 minis, that was thru a land line :) and not my awesome iPhone :).....
