What number did you call? I called 800-375-5283, I can't seem to get any answers. Amanda actually was reading from the website to me. duh. I asked to be transferred to an Adjudicator to no avail. If I spelled that wrong, I am sure most of you understand

Amanda was extremely nice but didn't tell me a thing. Must be a contractor.

I've also tried the Referral from Soch post and the RFE trick. NOTHING IS WORKING FOR ME :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

4 approvals in 2 days is a great start for the month. Maybe they hired some newbies???? Who knows...but Bill I think u may be right. They will work harder to keep up with the 6 month deadlines. NOW maybe we can get approved faster..see some action.....Im happy with 2 a day average...but would love to see them crank out more.

I'm trying not to be overly optimistic, but with all the touches, RFE's and a few NOA2's this week, its making me think that VSC might finally be ready to kick some a$$ with our petitions! If the trend continues next week, and picks up a bit more steam, I might even become a believer!

There seems to be no real consistency yet, though. Their approving has been all over the charts lately. Approvals from September, October, and July filers??? They lie about processing cases in the order they are received. That's obvious. There are still May filers waiting. Perhaps they randomly select younger petitions in an effort to bring down their averages? I don't know. But it really isn't making any sense. Though, I can't really complain because they are approving now at a better rate....seemingly. My fingers are crossed that things continue to speed up for everyone.

I agree the filing dates approved are all over the place. Not sure why..but Im sure there is a reason. I do know the most recent valid June approval is June 4th. Im assuming they are now starting to pull boxes of the first week or so of june. I wouldn't be surprised if they are pulling June more now, in an effort to avoid going over the 6 month deadline. To get the "easy" petitions out of the way first. You know the ones they can do in 15 minutes that they can KNOW dont require an RFE??? Who knows.

Byron...make them hurry...please...the tension of waiting for yours and Mirlas and other earlier May filers is KILLING me. I can ONLY imagine what it is doing to you guys. Im still praying.

BUT good news is it does seem VSC is picking up..at least for the moment..even I...yes positive pom pom faith..was starting to lose faith (no pun intended...or was it??)

Over 100 people called in today for the USCIS Ombudsman’s teleconference

“USCIS Receipting Delay II - How Does This Affect You?”

The focus was on receipting delays, but there was a couple interesting things said and the comment about the probability of the 6-month goals being extended is disheartening. My notes include:

USCIS has completed all receipting of all I-485 employment based applications (except for the Nebraska service center). They are now moving toward emphasize efforts in receipting the N-400s.

He expects in January the 6 month processing goal at each service center will increase dramatically. He did not elaborate too much other than this will happen due to the volume of applications/petitions received by USCIS.

Send ombudsman info on customer service rep when you have a problem or bad information when calling the USCIS 1-800#

Whether I-129F can be filed without the I-130 receipt notice? How about with a copy of the check? I-130s will be transferred to Chicago soon in an effort to expedite. He is checking if customers can use a cancelled check as proof. He thought it should be allowed.

The 90-day clock for EAD start from date application was physically received at USCIS (received date on notice).

Incorrect Visa submission (when USCIS incorrectly returns an application due to fee submission). If you have ability to scan it, do so and send it to the ombudsman, but continue what you need to do on your end. He is hearing of too many incorrectly returned applications.

Correction of USCIS errors. Errors in receipt notice received. What should the person do? He hopes USCIS will post the answer soon to this. Update: I see it is posted now within the receipting message on the USCIS web site. They are saying the customer service rep should take the info over the phone on what is wrong and initiate corrective action.

Understand I-485s having priority, but not why don’t US citizens get priority service over non-citizens? Ombudsman said he will take up this question to USCIS and ask them to explain to him how/why they prioritize petitions.

He said receipting is done by contractors and not adjudicators so the receipting delays are not impacting the processing of petitions/applications.

Nebraska Service Center is inundated with employment based applications and therefore slower than the Texas Service Center.

People can email him at:

Recommends people check his web site for a lot of information, including answers to questions emailed to him. http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/editorial_0482.shtm

DAY 164 and nothing yet..... :crying::crying:

SOON

Byron, my Byron, So dear, sweet and strong,

This wait will soon end, together you belong.,

Right by your side, is where she will be,

Together forever, jsut wait, you will see.

This process is long, it takes up your time,

But soon enough all things will be fine.

So just get on your knees, pray to up above,

Soon you shall be, together with your love.

Hang in there Byron...we are all with you.

awwwwwwww....that was so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what kills me....every day that passes without an approval is a day of having less of a chance of spending the holidays with Leidy and her son who im dying to hide presents all over the house and give him a Christmas like he has never had before!!!! :(

In its own time Byron that will happen. Its in Gods timing. Remember that. Everything has a reason...everything. I know it hard to understand. Why not take the opportunity to be creative about it. What is the holidays about? Is it about WHEN we have it? or WHO we spend it with. I"d keep up your tree and keep the presents exactly where they 'd be till the day they arrive, if not before the holidays..then have "your own" holiday time to celebrate. Thats what's important..that she is here. Your love is strong. YOU are strong. Just stay focused on whats importa nt...your love and relationship. Nothing else matters..not even VSC. In the grand scheme of life...you have many many holidays to share...God willing. Stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel...and hang in there..it will all work out just the way God intended.

DAY 164 and nothing yet..... :crying::crying:

You know what kills me....every day that passes without an approval is a day of having less of a chance of spending the holidays with Leidy and her son who im dying to hide presents all over the house and give him a Christmas like he has never had before!!!! :(

Every day that passes is also one day CLOSER to their arrival.

afterforever .....amrssnowangel......you both are always so encouraging...THANK YOU ....from the bottom of my heart!!! You know its just that at times as i sit here alone watching TV but actually not really watching cause im thinking about this whole process and thinking..." i have someone i love so much, why is it so difficult tobe with her" but this process has taught me something i have never had....patience.....I know that God willing i will have many holidays with Leidy and Daniel , but during the holidays i absolutely love giving and especially when im with somebody...being alone is a little depressing, even more so nowing i have someone and not being able to be with that person.

You know Byron...my SO always says as long as I carry his love in my heart..Im never truely alone. Although we are physically apart from them, we are so blessed to have their love. Just because they aren't here...doesnt mean you can't be creative in ways to celebrate the holidays together. Send a care box filled with presents wrapped for her and her son. Share them on cam on Christmas morning. Call that day to make it special. Get the help of a family member there to make her a special dinner, have her served and eat your dinner same time. Totally surprise her in small ways...maybe with a 12 ddays before christmas gift pack. She can open one a day...for 12 days..maybe they are a theme. Maybe sth small that reminds you of her or her of you. My SO loves Rabbits (hmmm) and soccer...so I find soccer bunnies...stuffed, pins, stickers anything to put his two favorite things together. He loves when I bake and ship him cookies. Make it a memerable holiday...God willing it is the last one spent apart... I know its hard...but its all in how we look at it really. I wish soo much mine was here to...to sit by a romantic lit tree...to see my dad open his gifts..my mom fuss about the paper all over the floor and to smell and taste all the new things we eat that he doesn't.

My SO makes things special...he recorded himself singing a "lullybye" to me. Its something special he does...when i was in the hospital alone and scared...he called every 30 minutes and sang it to me. To this day..when I need reassurance..or just to be close to him.I open that file..play it over and over....

Hang in there Byron. You'll find special ways to spend this with her. TRY this...

www.blurb.com

I made a real hard back BOOK.....I uploaded pics and wrote a story. This is great way to record your relationship...write the story of your love...or make a simple photo album....but its a professionally hard bound or soft back book. Cover jacket and all. Maybe THAT would be a great gift for her..and her son. A story featuring HIM. Just a thought...Check it out.

Um, I don't know if anyone caught that, but in my mind we need to start screaming at them/the media/someone NOW.

If January hits and, say, the petitioning time goes from 6 months to....8...10...12 months...

Us July and onward filers will not even be thought of until NEXT SUMMER at the earliest.

Time to organize a trip and go protest. This is bullshit, and they know it.

I just arrived home from a business trip. I had no access to internet and it was killing me not to read the progress my VJ friends have made. I was so glad to read the many approves and congrats to you all

I went to work today (waitress in England), and one of the staff members said

"I'm moving to America too!"

"Really?" I said. "How are you going to work out there?"

"My brother-in-law owns two garages, I'm going to manage one of them"

"Good luck getting a visa!" I said

"You don't need one" He said

"Yes you do, you can't work in the USA without a visa. Do you mean you are going to work illegally?" said a very wise me.

At that point, somebody else chirped in that you didn't need a visa if you only worked for six months. The two of them were adament that if you had a British passport, you don't need a visa to work. It took all I had not to scream at them "DON'T YOU THINK I WOULD BE THERE NOW IF I WAS ALLOWED TO WORK THERE????!!!!!"

Please tell me that I was right, and you guys don't know of a loophole around it, whereby I could work there?

QUOTE(Bill B @ Nov 2 2007, 07:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

People can email him at:

cisombudsman.publicaffairs@dhs.gov.

Recommends people check his web site for a lot of information, including answers to questions emailed to him. http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/editorial_0482.shtm

thank you for the info - i never knew about the ombudsman. very good info.
