Well...besides the telephone there's not really a tracking system in place. If you know the week that NVC sent your case to the embassy then you can go DHL and track to see when that packet arrives. Typcially, NVC sends one batch a week to each embassy, unless it's been a really busy week.

You can track packages that leave NVC using the method described.

Here's some info you may like then. wink.gif

The NVC uses DHL to ship their packages. Once you confirm the date that the I-130 was sent, you can go on the DHL website to approximately track your case. There are forums here talking about it but I'll sum it up below.

1. Go to: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

2. In Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the date before the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 12 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 11 FEB 2009A"

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

5. Keep the rest of the fields blank

7. Once you enter the info, press "Track"

8. After a while you will see a list of all of the packages that left the NVC today. You need to search for the specific consulate.

9. When you find the shipment the corresponds to your consulate, you will see the tracking number that you can record.

10. You can then track the shipment from the NVC to your specific Consulate

you say ur case left NVC on 03-06

so the track number entered must be : "EXP 05 MAR 2010A"

date range must be 03-06-2010 and today

I tried it for you, and there was 1 shipement delivered to MOSCOW, RUSSIAN FEDERATION on 3/10/2010 4:57 pm

hoping it's yours

sometimes is difficult, and the search only works well with Internet explorer. As Drue & Naddy says maybe your case already is in the embassy.

That's correct. The spaces are critical for some reason in the tracking reference date.. Just worked for me as well.

Does anybody know a good way how to track your case from National Visa Center to Embassy?    :help:

Try following these steps.

Go to DHL Worldwide Express website http://www.dhl.com

Select "USA" - A new page will open

At the top highlight tracking and click on "TRACK BY REFERENCE"

In the Reference field type "CORRESPONDENCE"

For the Shipment date you should select a day before and after the date NVC said they sent your file.

Leave the "Customer number" blank

Origin Postal code should be "03801"

Then Click "Track"

"YuAndDan" gave me this info in 2006 after I asked the same question. You will have to call NVC first and speak to a human. The automated menu cannot give you any info about whether your pkg has been sent or not.

it is most likely there already. Basically you need to lookup the date previous to the day they said it left the NVC...so the NVC recording says ours left the 16th of march. So i had to put EXP 15 Mar 2010A then you go down the list and find your consulate...click on the shipping number and it gives you all the details on it.

Try following these steps.

Go to DHL Worldwide Express website http://www.dhl.com

Select "USA" - A new page will open

At the top highlight tracking and click on "TRACK BY REFERENCE"

FWIW, it does say mine left the NVC on 16 March on its way to Manila...maybe that is something new??
