Each embassy has it's own rules regarding taxes.  There are plenty of threads regarding this topic.  Best bet is to check your regional forum for the best info or wait for the letter.  Luckily for us there is no lack of information regarding the Manila embassy.  Everything is already out there on a silver platter.

At the moment everything seems to be moving at a very slow pace.  However we are only looking at one part of the whole picture. For instance, USCIS was overloaded with petitions Jan-Mar. (especially March)  And they are just working through the backlog of cases.  Also there have been at least several RFE's that have been handed out in the last couple of days.  Add on the fact that it's hard to tell what goes on outside of Visa Journey applicants.  I could go on but I digress.  In the end the vast majority of March and April filers should have their NOA-2 in hand by the end of the month.

On your email you should have a case number.  Go to the USCIS website, click check your case status and enter the case number.  Then click on the case number.   If it says received there you are good to go.  Albeit it is nice to have a hard copy of the NOA-1 in hand.

Yes, that was the NOA1  All current I-129F petitiones are sent to CSC for processing.

If CSC ever transfers your petition out to another service center, you would receive a new notice noting the transfer. If not, you'll only be waiting for a NOA2, RFE or denial from CSC. But of course if there's a RFE, upon your RFE response and their completion of adjudication, you will then get a NOA2.

That very well could be the reason.  The USA passport and visa photos should be a square shaped 2 in x 2 in.  Where the Spanish photos are rectangular.  Not following instructions exactly as stated can lead to RFE's, even though it may not make sense.  If that is the reason should be an easy fix on your part.

What they mean is the signed letter stating intent to marry in 90 days.  Sometimes people forget to put them in the packet.

I will not know what the RFE is for until I get it in the mail. If it was mailed today from California, i will likely receive it on Saturday or Monday (I'm in Texas).  I'll respond to the thread once I know.  The only thing I can think of is that my fiance's passport photo was slightly smaller than mine because he took his in Spain and I took mine at Walgreens. I can't believe that actually matters.

Hi everyone. I filed on March 31st and got my NOA1 on April 7th. I just got a notification for an RFE on August 2nd. Hoping that it's quick and easy so I can still get my NOA2 this month.

You're a hoser from the great white north, she's Mexican, completely different rules.   Canadians can cross the border without a tourist visa, our friends from the South can't.

What type of visa do you have?  It shouldn't be an issue but keep in mind every time you seek entry can be a completely different experience.  Good luck!!

I just noticed that our thread has reached "Hot" status!  It's not the good news we are waiting to hear, but it's an accomplishment.

Not bad luck at all   It takes 12 months to process the CR-1.  Just because the initial paperwork at USCIS goes through at the same time, there is still a lot of stuff on the back end that has to happen. (Months of extra stuff)  As you know it's the K-1 + AOS rolled into one.  So we still made the best choice.  Our turn is coming..

That may be true, but we have seen too many times where the USC falls in "love" and the scammer takes full advantage.  We lose our heads when we believe that we are in love.  We ignore obvious red flags and DON'T want to believe that the "love of my life" can be a scammer, despite clues to the contrary.

Everybody, whether 20 or 60, needs to hear this.  As to whether they will heed the advice... who knows, but at least people know that they tried to help.  I don't think that anybody writes these warnings or advice in bad faith, or for some other reason.  I think we all truly write it because we don't want to see what seems like a nice guy get scammed, especially near retirement age.  A financial hit at that age can be disastrous.

I can already see that the OP's heart has passed his brain on the way to Morocco.  His brain hasn't boarded the plane yet, but his heart is already at the layover airport ready to board the next flight.  Asking about fiancé visa after speaking to somebody through the internet for 3 months.  That seems crazy to me.  And saying that he's only asking about visa just in case it works out is not exactly true.  We all know that the reason you would ask about it is because you have been thinking about it.  If I had to guess, I'd say that OP has discussed with this woman the possibility of her coming to the US permanently.  We don't normally waste time researching things "just in case".  I know that I don't.  The 40 year age gap I itself should be a show stopper.  Ironic how so many 60 year olds who can't find a woman in the US are all of a sudden so charming and sexy to get 20 year olds in the 3rd world.  Never from a developed country, but from Latin America, South East Asia, Middle East, and Africa.

A good test would be to propose moving to her.  But you have to really sell it, she has to believe it's true.  Scammers know that this is something USC's use to test their partner's intentions.  You have to really make them believe it's possible.  Then if the alien is still on board, she is either real or just a good poker player.

One thing to remember about this site is that people are not just speaking about your specific case.
Chances are, someone with a similar question will find this in a random search engine. So they speak as if they were informing a rather broad audience as opposed to just the OP.
While you may be and/or think you are an exception to the norm, its still important that everyone approaches this topic with a considerable amount of skeptism.

No reason to take offense, just take the the advise for surface value.
I mean.... it is the internet. lol

Legally yes but let's not pretend age isn't a factor here.  It is the huge gigantic elephant in the room.  And in this case 40 years is a massive factor.

Never say never again comes to mind.  However the reality of the situation is I don't know any 24 year old ladies that want to marry someone 40 years their elder.  In this case the people who are concerned on this board have every right to point out the dangerous decision the OP is making, judging or not.  Sometimes judging without knowing is justified, especially in a situation where the odds are overwhelming against working out.

This is BY FAR the best answer.  But don't misunderstand.  Business casual doesn't mean Sunday best, which is what a lot of people seem to be thinking here.  For me it means a decent clean pair of pants (not ripped or faded) paired with a nice shirt. Preferably not a T-shirt as they can look sloppy and have symbols which can be misinterpreted. In summary nice clean clothes that send a neutral signal.

Plan to dress business causal.   Slacks and a nice blouse would be best.

If you wouldn't wear it at a front office job in a busy organization, don't wear it to your interview.

Indeed I'm glad we got into this group, wonderful caring people in here.    And yes people who don't know about the process always seem puzzled.  "You mean your fiancee can't just fly over here?"

People seem to jump right into "Mail Order Bride" mode quickly.  The angle most people take is making a  joke about it, instead of just asking straight up.  But when I remind them about Joe and Jane who met each other online but live 2 blocks away from each other they scratch their head.  Then I explain that I met my fiancee online then wet met each other in person.  Then they turn red and sheepishly say, "Ohh you mean...people in other countries have internet?" Duh!
