Merrytooth reacted to Lemonslice in Conditional resident wife is using restraining order to qualify for VAWA
History of his posts shows more, so I don't think he'd be able to get a gun.
Maybe she's seeking one because she fears him?

This is basic common sense.

What else can you offer to potential partner (since you do not work and have no income, still living with parents), other than green card opportunity?

Merrytooth got a reaction from bcking in Trump vs N.K. Final threat....playing with fire😕
Precisely there are 'enemies' (Japan, South Korean, US soldiers) at NK's doorstep that NK develops nuclear weapons (I don't agree with nuclear weapons here).
NK sees those joint military exercises as provocations.
So you think other countries should not have means to defend themselves from any future military attacks?
AND CHINA does not want US troops right at their doorstep as well.
Very simple:
- US attacks NK, China will help NK.
- If NK attacks US, China most likely will stand on US side.
IMHO,
US should take a step back, let China takes the lead in NK issue, instead of barking a mad dog like that fatty Kim.
There are already many disasters in US. Focus on rebuild our home here first before going around stirring the hornet nest in other parts of the world, trying to install 'so-called democracy' in other countries.

When a child is adopted before their 16th birthday, and receives an immigration benefit as a result of that adoption (such as being petitioned and obtaining a green card), they are considered the “child” of the adoptive parents. This means, the adopted child cannot petition for his or her biological parents or siblings, and they cannot receive any immigration benefit from them.
If you obtained your green card because of an adoption, you cannot petition your biological parent, or your biological brothers or sisters.

Frage is right.
https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted/replace-green-card
If your Form I-90 application is approved, you will be mailed a replacement green card with a 10-year expiration date from the date it is issued.

Merrytooth reacted to Umka36 in What are the chances of getting denied
Each case is unique, and people are providing the OP with suggestion on how to avoid a denial.
The reason I asked if she had a job was because she has four children to support. Beyond family financial support, is the OP also getting government support? They do look at the totality of the situation during the interview. This is about helping the OP with her question, and the OP obviously can ignore any of the responses she does not like.

Merrytooth reacted to Frage in Divorce- 10 year green card holder
If she was to file I-90 for the name change in 2017, her card will expire to be renewed in 2027.
Someonefrombefore, you can change your address once you have your petition out. There is no need to change addresses if you don't have a petition. Also there is no need to inform about divorce. Just will out the I-90 with your maiden name after your divorce is final and change address after you receive NOA1 if you happen to move after you sent it. If you're already moved, then file I-90 you put down your new address anyway. Again your new card will automatically be valid for another 10 years.

But but but.. it is the USC that brought the immigrant here to US. He/She should be responsible for the immigrant regardless.. USC signed the I-134 / I-864.

You already have 10 years Green card, you can stay in US and keep renewing the Green Card as you want.
There is no law to comply you to apply for US citizenship.

Merrytooth reacted to Hypnos in Subject to Permanent Bar or Options for Waivers with Multiple EWI's?
Very much sounds like a 9C permanent bar.
As you know, he can only apply for a waiver after being outside of the US for at least 10 years (and be able to document this).
An I-601/A would be useless in this situation, since it does nothing for a 9C bar. He has literally zero options other than leaving and waiting out the ten years.
-
Merrytooth reacted to ConOfficer in Subject to Permanent Bar or Options for Waivers with Multiple EWI's?
No you have it wrong. The ten year bar is for unlawful presence, and there is a waiver for this.
The 212(9)(c) ineligibility is a "lifetime bar." But a waiver is available after ten years.
He has two ineligibilities. One for unlawful presence and the other for unlawful crossing after prior unlawful presence. The 2nd is the more serious issue.

Merrytooth reacted to RJandHamid in URGENT HELP - GOT FIANCE CHEATING NIGHT BEFORE MARRIAGE
What are you trying to fix? If he cheated on you, gave you a disease and emotionally and or physically harms you, you should end the relationship. Are you back in your home country now? If so there is nothing more than needs to be done other than cutting contact with him. You never married him, so he doesn't have a legal obligation to support you. If you left the within the 90 day time frame, it shouldn't have any effect on any future travel to the USA.

Merrytooth reacted to Prystine in N400 without any GC application?
OP, all your friend has done, is delayed herself in being able to become a US Citizen and increased the potential to be deported or denied if she has been working without authorization this whole time. Also, it will cost her more money then if she had filed for AOS immediately after getting married as she is now going to not only have to pay for the AOS fees (which have gone up from what she would have paid at the time) but she is going to have to get a whole new Medical done as well since the medical she did for the K1 visa was only valid for 1yr. She may have thought she was being clever trying to mitigate steps in the immigration process, but all she has really done is caused herself a lot more work and money.

Merrytooth reacted to Neonred in irma
We survived! It was wild, and scary. Only minor home and office damage. No power until Sept 22, no TV, no Internet, no cell coverage at my house. Not sure if anything is left of my home on Big Pine Key, and won't be able to find out for a while. Had a once in a lifetime experience, I hope, of going out into the eye of a hurricane. Winds of up to 142 mph then within one minute dead calm. Lost more than a dozen trees. Going to take a long while for life to return to normal.
I did see so many police near my office today. Turns out the president was visiting a mobile home park around the corner less than a mile away. To be honest they always are heavily damaged in any storm.
Much to do and difficult to find a fair data connection so.... off I go. A survivor.
