Millions of visitors come to the U.S. every year. A few get denied entry.
You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than you do of being denied entry by Customs and Border Patrol.
    Enjoy your visit!

Visas are for purpose of getting into the US. Since you're already here, you don't need any visa to get married.
After marriage you will be eligible to file for Adjustment of Status based on your marriage to US Citizen.

You can remove conditions on your own if you can prove that you entered the marriage in good faith. IMHO, you won't have this proof for being married for less than a year but I hope that I am wrong.
You can file in California but you need to establish residency here first, especially since this is a small fry divorce for such a short period,
Now that we've got that out of the way let's get to the nitty gritty.
I would think establishing yourself fist would be a priority and not looking for a suitable place of abode for you and a Dog.
Also, if you have money to fly to California why couldn't you fly back home instead?
Finally, why do you think that he owes you spousal support? You were married for less than a year. It's one thing if he feels like being righteous if you're playing ball but to demand a certain amount seems unreasonably greedy.
I am skeptical but I still wish you good luck on your journey.
PS: Have you appraised the alleged $14k ring?

EAD is your DHS authorization mentioned on the SS card. Nothing to update at the SSA at this time.
You will be able to remove 'Valid for work only with DHS authorization' from SS card only after you have your Green Card in hand.

Why do you think your fiance needs a visa to visit you in the UK? If he has a valid US passport he doesn't need a visa and he is allowed to stay for up to 6 months.
*You posted previously that he has a passport....so make sure it is still valid and tell him to buy a plane ticket*

This is incorrect. You have to list ALL your children, no matter what their immigration status at this time.
If they don't live and apply with you, just tick "No" to questions "Is child living with you?" and "Is child applying with you?"

it is against TOS to solicit a joint sponsor here on VJ. The CO won;t grant a visitor visa based on sympathy, they don;t care if you are separated, they just care that you have immigrant intent if you travel here, they have to take emotions out of the equation and stick to the law

if you cannot find a co-sponsor why bother to do so.
I was in the same situation like yours few wks ago. but instead of looking for co-sponsor I find another way...I started working a part time job to help me boost my income and ask my current employer to raise my hourly rate. I waited few wks to collect pay stubs before sending all my RFE's(AOS stage) and it work out. now we are just waiting for the AOS interview.
anyways in your situation. the sponsor need to try to find a full time job income for two household you just need to earn $ 19,387. then wait for about a month to send the paystubs to the embassy. goodluck!!!

Tygrys reacted to JimVaPhuong in my 75year old father married a 65 year old korean lady and wants to bring her to the usa.
He's a US citizen. He can petition a spouse, just like any other US citizen.
His pension and Social Security retirement income should be qualified income for an affidavit of support. There are a few VJ members who've reported that they couldn't get the US government to count their SS retirement income. I don't think anyone here was able to figure out why. Maybe because it's not taxable. There's no law or policy that says income must be taxable in order to qualify as income for an affidavit of support. There is, however, both law and policy that says that consideration of an affidavit of support begins with the most recent tax return. If the most recent tax return shows sufficient income, and if the sponsor's situation hasn't changed since the tax return was filed, then the sponsor's affidavit of support is considered sufficient. Anyway, that probably doesn't matter in your dad's case because you said his income was below the threshold.
Once she's in the US and has a green card then she'll be eligible for Medicare, but she'll have to pay full premiums in order to get it. She can't get free Medicare because she didn't earn it on her own, and she hasn't been married to your dad long enough to qualify through him. Premium Medicare is expensive. It might take most of your dad's income to pay for it. However, it's still a lot cheaper than private health insurance.
Your dad's a big boy. He doesn't really need your approval to do this, though he'd probably appreciate your support. He wants to be happy at the end of his life, and he apparently thinks his new Korean wife will help him do that.

Tygrys reacted to KayDeeCee in It's not meant to be rude. Just a general observation.
I do not think the OP was referring to questions people still have and ask about even after reading the form instructions and guides. I believe they were speaking about the basics such as what the filing fee is or what the mailing address is. The things that are clearly stated on the USCIS website and in the form instructions that everyone should read before filling out any form. That is the purpose of form instructions and are still asked constantly and those are definitely also easy to find with a simple search.
I also find it frustrating when someone asks a question, gets it answered and then asks it again, either right away, days, weeks or months later. I recently bowed out of a thread because I felt it was just going around in circles. You try to help and explain things, yet the same questions you and others just answered are asked again and again in the very same thread right after the answers and helpful links are provided.

I chalk all of this up to folk using a handphone.
I say ditch it, come back to VJ on a PC, instead.
Handphones SUCK for VJ usage, one misses 80 percent of the functionality of the site when using a handphone.

I'm not starting this topic to offend anybody or to start a beef just for the beef sake. After several months of being on this very helpful forum (it's a life saver in many cases! ), I have this general observation that people do not even bother to read instructions and guides. It seems they don't even bother to use a search engine to look for answers to their questions, but just bluntly create a new topic to ask their question that has been asked 3 to 5 times the very same day. Sometimes there are several topics one under the other(s) about the same thing. It makes the forum bigger and bigger mess every day.
I know this process is long, exhausting and above all confusing at many points. It really is and also has been for me. I always try to help whenever I'm logged in and I'm able to help (when I know how), because this is the main purpose of the forum -- to help and support each other. But even earlier today I read posts in a topic from more experienced forum members that the question about Texas lockobx and Texas Sevice Center comes up way too often and perhaps should be pinned somewhere to be visible. When I browse through the K1 forum, I see more and more replies that are only like "Read the guides" or "Follow this link", because these are basic questions!
It's all there in the Guides, in the Downloads, on the Visa FAQs etc. My plead for new users especially is to first research and read, and then if your question/issue is still not answered or it's very specific to formulate a question on the forum.
I wish you all a good day and above all as smooth visa journey as possible!

Well there is a big grown up response.
Along with the "we didn't wanna wait for the tourist visa" leads others to believe "so we just filed the fiance visa knowing we weren't gonna get married".
Seems you don't really need any answers because they aren't going to fit what you have already known all this time.
And they won't change. Way to work the system.
And as has been stated in the past, it's you that makes it harder on others in these processes.
This process is a serious process for some, and those that are just using it to "take a joyride" "test the waters" "drive the car before I buy it", actually harm the process for others.
So don't get your feelings hurt when someone calls you out.

Come on now, the poster never said that they filed the k1 to buy time to get to know her. You are just putting words into his mouth. I know you must be upset that they are at the end of their journey and they are expressing doubt but it cant be great for them either. They have been through all the waiting we have, finally got to the crunch and they cant decide if they are doing the right thing. Imagine the disappointment for their family and friends.
Im willing to guess they dont want your "empathy/patience" they just want impartial advice. YOU dont know the details of what has happened or what they are going through. Its better they have their doubts now then after the wedding.
Good luck to you guys whatever your choice
